Elephant Trunk Hill Park is a lovely place to visit even on a wetter day. The park meanders around much of the lake, and while it can be very busy in places, it is not hard to find peace and quiet. The Lijiang River once splits into east and west in Guilin, then reunites, and in the middle of the river is an island measuring 2km x 5km, centered around Duxiufeng Wangcheng, which acts as a natural fortress.
