In addition to the Brahma Bell and the golden and bronze phoenix, there are 26 statues of the Bodhisattva in the Clouds, and some are listed as important. The eleven-faced statue of Guanyin Bodhisattva is a cultural property. In short, I highly recommend a visit to Uji. Visit Byodo-in Temple, Ujigami Shrine or the Tale of Genji Museum, eat the famous Uji matcha, and then relax by the Uji River. Uji is located down south andis also know for it's many temples and shrines that grows long histories with it. The 2 must visit temple here is the Byodo In Temple and the Manpuku-Ji temple which is popular among both locals and tourists too! Along the streets of uji, there are many local street food vendors selling traditional Japanese matcha dessert and hand made mochis and even old tea houses established by the locals.

Our stomachs were grumbling, so we refueled with a scrumptious lunch before diving into the temple experience. Byodoin Temple, folks, is a bona fide icon of Japan. The architecture was mind-blowing, with intricate details that seemed to whisper tales of centuries past. We explored the stunning Phoenix Hall, which stood tall and proud amidst a picturesque pond.
