Even the motion sickness medicine didn't help. Listening to "The Dream of Hexi Corridor" marked the first stop of my winter off-season trip to Hexi Corridor, which is only on the edge of Hexi Corridor. 🌟Highlights: Maijishan Grottoes, one of the four major grottoes in China, was built in the Later Qin period and reached its peak in the Northern Wei period. It has undergone excavation and renovation in various dynasties, and has a variety of clay sculptures of Buddha statues, which are of high ornamental value. ❤Recommended reason: Recent discounts - before March 15, 2025, "One Ticket for All" policy, scenic spot tickets are universal, the most cost-effective is to buy a 20 yuan paper ticket for Tianshui Fuxi Temple and register, and then use it for free admission to Maijishan Grottoes (special caves are extra). No need to queue in the off-season, and no need to worry about special cave tickets being sold out. You can still visit the special caves after 3 pm. Cave 133 is recommended (CNY 180/person, including explanations of ordinary caves and special caves). 🚉Transportation guide: Transportation and accommodation - Self-driving is the most convenient. Compared to other grottoes in China, Yungang Grottoes have the most Western style, with strong exotic influences. They feature Indian and Central Asian art elements, as well as Greek and Roman architectural styles, decorative patterns, and facial features. 👍 Most recommended: In my opinion, the murals of Mogao Grottoes are truly the "Pearl of Oriental Art," and Longmen Grottoes represent the pinnacle of stone carving art (I haven't been to Maijishan Grottoes, so I won't comment). Visiting Yungang Grottoes this time, I was truly amazed by its grand scale, majestic atmosphere, and exquisite carving skills. ✅ Hu's Residence is located on Minzhu West Road, Qinzhou District, Tianshui City, Gansu Province. Built during the Wanli period of the Ming dynasty, it has a history of over 400 years. It is one of the few remaining Ming dynasty residential buildings in Tianshui City and the only remaining Ming dynasty official residence in Northwest China. 🌈 Hu's Residence covers an area of about 6,374 square meters, with a building area of 4,140 square meters. It consists of 15 courtyards and 9 single buildings. The overall layout is rigorous, with a clear hierarchy, and the courtyards are connected by corridors.
