[Oita Prefecture] A famous autumn foliage spot where you can feel the mysterious Buddhist culture: Ryogoji Temple
Oita Prefecture is located in the northeastern part of the Kunisaki Peninsula. This area, known as "Rokugo Manzan," is the birthplace of Shinbutsu Shugo, and is home to many Buddhist temples and shrines. Among them, the one we visited this time was Rokugo Manzan Soji Temple, which is also one of the best spots in the prefecture to see autumn leaves. The first thing you'll notice when you arrive is the Nio statue at the mountain gate, which boasts the most beautiful and largest shape in the Kunisaki Peninsula! This place has been featured in numerous travel media outlets. When you actually visit, you'll be overwhelmed by the majestic appearance of the temple, which stands in the middle of the lush foothills, and the breathtaking beauty of the scenery. There is also a legend that rubbing your feet will make your legs stronger. If you go up the stone steps, you will find the main hall, the Goma Hall, and if you go further, you will find the inner sanctuary, which is enveloped in a tranquil atmosphere! There is also a cave in the inner sanctuary, and inside it is a mysterious space😳
※The Eleven-Headed Thousand-Armed Kannon and Ryosho Daigongen, enshrined in the inner sanctuary main hall, have been believed to grant fertility since ancient times
The area around Ryogoji Temple is also one of the best spots in the prefecture for viewing autumn leaves🍁
It is also famous as a power spot, and you can feel the history of Rokugo Manzan Buddhist culture, which is called the "Village of Buddhas"😌
※As an aside, there were crayfish everywhere in the temple grounds🦀
Crayfish seem to like places with good natural environments, so this place has such a rich natural environment...
We are grateful to nature🌱
