Review: Hat Lampi-Thai Mueang National Park, Phang Nga Province
The last beach forest in Thailand that is worth preserving and visiting
Hat Lampi-Thai Mueang National Park is located in Thai Mueang District, Phang Nga Province. It is one of the most fertile beach forests in Thailand and has been recognized as “the last large beach forest in Thailand” that still maintains complete biodiversity and nature.
Topography
The park covers both coastal tropical forests, beach seas, and freshwater ecosystems in canals. It is a beach forest that runs parallel to the Andaman Sea. The highlight of this landscape is the fact that the “forest” and the “sea” live side by side in harmony.
Outstanding natural resources
This area is home to important beach plants, such as pine trees, sea urchins, sea figs, and many types of ground plants. It is also home to rare wildlife, such as the black-bellied sable (which has been reported in the past) and is a nesting area for sea turtles that come to lay eggs on the beach during the winter every year.
Lam Pi Beach is a long and quiet beach with no buildings that disturb nature. It is suitable for walking, relaxing, and studying coastal ecosystems. You can also clearly see the beautiful sunset over the Andaman Sea.
Interesting activities in the park area
Hiking in the nature study trail of the beach forest
Take a boat trip or paddle in Khlong Bang Thong to see the ecosystem of the peat swamp forest and mangrove forest
Watch sea turtles lay eggs in the season (November - February)
Relax on Lampi Beach or Thai Mueang Beach, which are still quiet
Visit Lampi Waterfall, which is not far from the coastline
Travel and facilities
You can travel from Phang Nga town on Highway No. 4 (Phetkasem Road) heading to Thai Mueang District. The main entrance is near the district office. The park area has simple accommodation, tent sites, and a tourist service center, suitable for those who want to be close to nature.
