A restaurant hidden in the tropical rainforest of Chiang Mai: Black Forest Restaurant
#2月好地方2025
Once you leave Nimmanhaemin Road or the old town, the closer you move to the suburbs and rivers, you will find many forest-themed restaurants in Chiang Mai! Among them, the "Black Forest Restaurant" located southwest of Chiang Mai Airport has won the Michelin recommendation award, and the prices have not increased accordingly. It seems unreasonable not to experience it for yourself!
This is a restaurant surrounded by tropical rainforest. All you can see are tall and lush trees, the pristine and natural beauty of the earth, and the occasional chirping of insects and birds. The restaurant building itself is also quite special, like a hollow mushroom house. People dine under umbrellas and enjoy the greenery of the surrounding woods and the clear waters of the lake. It is so pleasant.
The meals are traditional Thai cuisine, but the presentation uses a lot of natural elements, making them photogenic and delicious. Dishes like pineapple fried rice, Tom Yum Goong, and crispy roast pork are all classic must-orders. It’s delicious but not amazing. On the contrary, the rainforest-style dining environment is quite surprising!
