[Bangkok Hotel Recommendation] Kimpton Roseland Bangkok
[Green five-star resort hotel]
I found the most suitable hotel for a weekend getaway in Bangkok. This time I stayed at Kimpton Maa-lai Bangkok. As soon as I entered the door, I was attracted by the green plants surrounding the hotel. I met dogs of all sizes in the lobby every day. They were so cute! The room I stayed in had a park view. It was very large and luxuriously equipped. I didn't want to leave.
The hotel’s breakfast buffet, lobby coffee shop and even room services are all vegetarian-friendly. The breakfast buffet in particular has the most healthy vegetarian options I have ever had, which is really exciting to eat.
(1) Check-in procedure
Take Grab directly to the door, and a dedicated person will assist in transporting your luggage. You can check in sitting in a comfortable sofa seat while drinking an iced welcome juice tea. The whole process makes you feel at home.
(2) Room Facilities
Room Type: Maa-Lai Suite Green Lung View
The Green Lung View Corner Room we stayed in this time is on the 24th floor. During the day, the entire room is filled with sunlight, and you can enjoy the blue sky and white clouds while using the air conditioner. The room has a small living room, bedroom, bathroom and dressing room. I walk around the room almost a thousand steps every day.
The tea room in the small hall is equipped with a capsule coffee machine and fruit tea bags are also available, but snacks are available at an additional cost. Four bottles of mineral water in glass bottles are especially important in summer. The welcome fruits and macarons were beautifully presented and plentiful.
The bed is very comfortable and you can choose the type of pillow you want before check-in. You can use the bedside buttons to control the opening and closing of curtains and screens while lying in bed. It is very relaxing to stay in bed and enjoy the scenery. The Bluetooth speaker at the bedside has good sound quality and is very easy to use. Once the phone is connected, it will automatically connect and the music can be heard throughout the room.
Hotels that support environmental protection can choose not to change bed sheets and towels every day, and do their bit for the earth.
When I woke up in the morning, I found that the light and shadow in the bathroom were super beautiful. If you want to enjoy the beautiful scenery, you might as well go back to the room in the afternoon to rest and take a bath. The silk bathrobe has a unique design, is smooth to the touch, and is comfortable to wear and sleep in. The double wash basin design is luxurious enough, and the toiletries are all the hotel's own brand. The large bottles reduce plastic bottle waste, and the body lotion is placed in a ceramic bottle, which feels cute when you use it.
The hair dryer is a Dyson, so you don’t have to worry about taking a long time to blow dry your long hair, and you don’t have to carry the hair dryer yourself.
I really like the practical dressing room, which has plenty of space for luggage and sundries, and can also hang out all the holiday dresses. The large mirror opposite the wardrobe is also a good place to check your clothes and take selfies before going out every day. The bench in front of the mirror is used to store cameras, wires, small bags and various other items.
I especially want to praise the room cleaning staff for arranging my sundries neatly every day. All the wires were curled beautifully, even the wires of the curling iron I brought were arranged neater than when I bought them. It's truly a magical skill.
There is also a bed-making service every night, the curtains and lights in the room are adjusted, and there is a bottle of sweets at the bedside.
(3) Hotel buffet breakfast
I found the buffet breakfast to be very amazing. We had our meal at the restaurant on the 5th floor. The restaurant was very large with many seats and was almost always full during peak hours. There are so many types of food, from freshly cooked noodle soups to fried noodles and even egg dishes. You can choose from ordering paper at the counter, such as eggs benign, omelette or avocado toast. The portions are all half-portion mini versions, so you can eat more.
The drinks include fresh coconut, fresh fruit juice and even turmeric and black pepper shot. I have them all. You can also order coffee and tea. Salads, cheese and fruits are all kept in the freezer, and there are so many varieties, especially fresh fruits. If you want mango, go to the mango sticky rice side.
It is worth mentioning that there are also various vegan dishes. In addition to fried tofu, there are also fried mushrooms, spinach, mixed beans, etc., which are a little different every day. What’s even more special is that there is a Middle Eastern food stall where you can eat hummus and smoked eggplant puree. The taste is authentic and I highly recommend it.
(4) Gym and swimming pool
People who like sports will definitely be satisfied with this gym. Even I, who don’t exercise, find the red equipment so eye-catching and special. The swimming pool is a great place to check in. There is a happy hour every afternoon, providing free drinks to hotel guests, including red wine, white wine, or cocktails!
I went swimming at night and found that there was a strong current coming out from one side of the pool. It was a bit difficult to swim and I couldn't swim in a straight line.
(5) Dining
There is a famous pet-friendly coffee shop CRAFT in the hotel lobby. I saw many people bringing their dogs there early in the morning. There were dogs of all sizes, which were very pleasing to the eye. This cafe is also a vegetarian-friendly restaurant, serving a variety of vegetarian and vegan dishes.
There is another restaurant in the garden outside the coffee shop, which seems to serve Japanese barbecue and is also dog-friendly. There is also an Italian restaurant where you can eat pasta.
(6) Surrounding environment and transportation
The garden outside is also part of the hotel. Through the green path, you can reach the nearby shopping mall Vella, where there are more restaurants, coffee shops and supermarkets. If you don’t want to go too far, there are places to go shopping nearby.
Go through the mall and walk straight for about 10 minutes to BTS Chit Lom Station. There is a nice Starbucks and a convenience store in the middle. It is not very far for pedestrians, but it is not recommended for those carrying luggage.
