Global Travel|"At Le Méridien Phuket Mai Khao, Switch Life to Silent Mode"
For this trip to Phuket, the second hotel I stayed at was Le Méridien Phuket Mai Khao Beach Resort.
No need to plan too many itineraries, no need to wake up early for check-ins—just want to properly, quietly, zone out for a while.
📍 We stayed in a third-floor pool view room.
As soon as you open the balcony door, there's that vast blue pool, paired with the greenery in the distance, instantly maxing out the vacation vibes.
The breeze carries a hint of the sea, giving you that grounded feeling that "doing nothing is actually doing something."
The room has a simple yet warm Southeast Asian style, with light wood tones that are very soothing. When natural light streams in during the day, the whole room brightens up, like a sunny filter for your mood.
🌊 The hotel is really close to the sea—just a few steps to the beach. During the day, you can hear the waves crashing, and at night, it's a low, soothing sound like the ocean breathing you to sleep.
You can choose to dash into the sea for some fun or do nothing at all—just sit, watch, and listen. Isn't this way better than mindlessly scrolling through short videos?
🥐 The dining is also worth mentioning. Breakfast offers a wide variety, from fresh fruits and made-to-order omelets to piping-hot Thai stir-fries, all exquisitely prepared.
My favorite is their coconut milk pancakes—fluffy, sweet, and feels like dessert saying good morning to you.
🏖️ The public areas aren't over-the-top but are thoughtfully designed. The lounge areas are private enough, and the landscaping is excellent, giving you a "body at the resort, heart in the rainforest" vibe. Kids can play in the water while adults zone out—everyone gets what they need.
I spent the whole afternoon on the balcony, watching the pool and the sky slowly turn golden, my mind blissfully empty, with just one thought: This is it. This is what a vacation should feel like.
The hotel has a good occupancy rate, and breakfast can get crowded, so either go early or late. But as a resort, it’s well-equipped with a kids' club and an adults' club (featuring table tennis, billiards, foosball, and other activities), making it a great destination for family trips or romantic getaways.
