Just a short hour’s drive from Bangkok, you will reach your first check-in point of the day — “Wat Luang Pho Sothon”, a famous temple in Paet Riew. Those who are into superstition must come here!
The statue of Luang Pho Sothon in the new chapel is very beautiful, peaceful but sacred. Once you go in and pay your respects, it’s like you have recharged your batteries and you will go home with a full tank!
After making merit, it’s time to find something spicy to recharge your energy — Destination: Ruay Ruean Pae Restaurant, a riverside restaurant in Bang Pakong. The atmosphere is nice and the wind is cool and refreshing, plus the food is amazing!
Things you must order:
• Grilled river prawns, big and juicy, so delicious you will cry
• Tom Yum Goong Maphrao On, so delicious
• Tom Yum Pla Kang, chewy, sour and refreshing
• Finish with Lod Chong Nam Kati, sweet and cool, a gentlemen’s palate cleanser
The price is not too expensive, the service is good, the service is fast, and the riverside view is inviting to take pictures until the ice in the glass melts.
Summary of this trip:
Those who love to make merit are happy, those who love to eat are smiling from ear to ear. One day is enough for both the mind and the stomach. If you have never been there, you must try it!

Worship at Luang Pho Sothon Temple
In late December 2023, I came to pay homage to the Buddha at #Wat Luang Pho Sothon #Chachoengsao Province to fulfill my vow for my career.
I stopped by to eat at a restaurant called #Ruay Ruean Pae. I ordered pork satay, shrimp cakes, stir-fried grouper fish, and squid with lime. The food was delicious, but I ordered squid with lime and eggs, but only got squid with lime.
#Wat Luang Pho Sothon has many people coming to pray and fulfill their vows. Parking might be a bit hard to find, but I recommend parking in the temple's designated parking lot because there are always people coming and going, so there is definitely a parking spot.

Take mom to worship at 3 temples
This trip, I did what my mom wanted for 1 day. When my mom told me she wanted to worship at 3 temples, I didn't hesitate to grab the keys and drive to Dharma.
01 Wat Luang Pho Sothon
This place is famous for making vows. Whoever gets their wish fulfilled will bring boiled eggs to make an offering.
I personally stopped by to worship for my own good fortune.
02 Kai Na Muang Noodles
This noodle shop we found on the way to the next temple. This shop has many different parts of chicken to choose from. It is served with a fragrant soup and the price is not too expensive.
03 Tha Kham Cafe
Stopped by to escape the heat and sit in the air-conditioning. Add some sweetness. This shop is cute and has parking.
04 Wat Saman Rattanaram
This is a complete merit-making center. This temple offers many types of merit-making. There is a large and impressive Ganesha statue here. There is also a small market where you can buy souvenirs to take home.
05 Namtan Sod Village
How can a shopaholic miss buying things to take home? There are small stalls along the way. The shopaholic mother also did not miss buying some back.
06 Wat Pak Nam Jolo
The church of this temple is golden and very beautiful. This temple is quite peaceful compared to the first two temples that we passed. It is suitable for coming to calm the mind and heart and watch the Bang Pakong River flowing by.

Pay homage to Luang Pho Sothon, Chachoengsao Province
#Songkran2024Travel
Wat Sothon Wararam Worawihan is located in Mueang District, Chachoengsao Province, or as many people call it "Wat Luang Pho Sothon", which is located on the banks of the Bang Pakong River. The atmosphere of the temple is beautiful, shady, and cool. Inside, there is "Luang Pho Sothon" enshrined in the ordination hall, which is a Buddha statue in the meditation posture, a symbol of the people of Chachoengsao for a long time.
Friends who travel to Chachoengsao Province must visit "Wat Sothon Wararam Worawihan". Friends will be able to see the beauty of the ordination hall, pay homage to Luang Pho Sothon for good luck in life, and sit and enjoy the cool breeze while enjoying the view of the Bang Pakong River. We ourselves had the opportunity to visit and pay homage and ask for blessings, and felt very peaceful, cool, and happy in both body and mind. It helped us to be calmer, not to think distractedly, and also helped us to be mindful in our lives. When we paid homage to Luang Pho, we felt comfortable and relieved of various worries. Moreover, we felt goosebumps, perhaps because we learned about the legend of the origin of Luang Pho Sothon. Finally, if you would like to recommend this sacred temple to your loved ones to visit, you can share this article. #Travel to Paet Riew #Worship and ask for blessings #Worship near Bangkok #Chachoengsao

Let's pay homage to Luang Pho Sothon, Chachoengsao
Wat Sothon Wararam Worawihan is located on the banks of the Bang Pakong River, Na Mueang Subdistrict, Mueang Chachoengsao District, Chachoengsao Province. It is a third-class royal temple, Worawihan type.
Wat Sothon Wararam Worawihan was originally called Wat Hong and was built in the late Ayutthaya period during the reign of King Narai the Great. It is the home of Luang Pho Phutthasothon, the city's sacred Buddha image of Chachoengsao. It is a stucco Buddha image in the meditation posture, 1.65 meters wide and 1.98 meters high, made by Lan Xang craftsmen.
According to legend, Luang Pho Phutthasothon is a bronze Buddha image in the meditation posture, with a lap width of more than a cubit. It has a very beautiful shape and has performed a miracle by floating in the water. Someone invited it to be enshrined at this temple. But the monks in the temple were afraid that someone would steal it, so they covered the original statue with cement until it looked like the present.

Take the train to make merit, save money
Hello, I have something to share with you guys. Let me explain first. My boyfriend and I love to travel a lot. I am from upcountry and have never taken a train before. So, my boyfriend invited me to take the train to make merit nearby so that I could experience that feeling. So, we talked about going to worship at Chachoengsao. We got on the train at the starting point, the train station (Hua Lamphong). The train ticket cost 13 baht!! 🚂 (ordinary electric train). I recommend checking the bus schedule first because the trains leave in turns. The time we got on was 8:00 a.m. ⏰ We arrived in Chachoengsao around 9:00 a.m. and when we walked out of the station, there were yellow songthaews waiting to go to Wat Luang Pho Sothon or other places. It costs 10 baht per adult for the entire route. Then, we made merit and worshiped at the temple. We might stop to buy souvenirs, have a meal (I personally think it is expensive and not very tasty) or buy lottery tickets. 555' Then, we walked a little past the ATM, waited for the songthaew, and noticed that a little past the roundabout on the left, there was a Pak Mo noodle shop. This shop is good and delicious. I recommend it. My boyfriend and I ordered 3 dishes: boat noodles, Pak Mo noodles. You can choose the Pak Mo filling. Grilled pork neck rice + the restaurant's special dipping sauce and 1 bottle of water, only 160 baht (this was for 2 people) 👍🏻 I recommend the grilled pork neck rice, it's good, you have to eat it while it's hot, 10/10. Then we went out to wait for the songthaew in front of the shop, took it back to the train station, bought a ticket back, a real day trip 😂 the kind that goes to nearby places, the total cost for 2 people was 500, there was really change left 💵 compared to driving yourself, it's very economical 👍🏻 #travelchachoengsao #makemeritandworship #peaceofmind

Phra Maha Vihara Luang Pho Sothon
Newly renovated, beautiful, peaceful, very cool
Location: Along the Bang Pakong River, Mueang District, Chachoengsao
This time we had the opportunity to stop by to pay respect to Luang Pho Sothon
We entered from the back, through the community market. Since it had just rained, the shops were not very crowded yet. Luckily
When we reached the temple, we turned right and found a place selling flowers, incense, and candles for praying and making wishes, which we could place in the temple.
After the renovation, the arrangement of Luang Pho was placed in the middle of the pavilion, elegant, and accessible to every corner.
Meditation is excellent.

Worship and ask for blessings from Luang Pho Sothon
People who believe in superstition must not miss the trip to pay homage to Luang Pho Sothon. It is popular to go to both Ubosot: the new Ubosot, which enshrines the real Luang Pho Sothon, and the Ubosot next to it, which enshrines a replica of Luang Pho Sothon. You can light incense and candles and make an offering. People can pay homage to Luang Pho Sothon in both Ubosots, but the Ubosot where the real Luang Pho Sothon is enshrined does not allow lighting incense and candles inside. However, you can still pay homage as usual. #Must-Visit
