Museum Singburi Museum Singburi
Permanent exhibition “Sing Buri Treasures” inside the old city hall building (R.S. 130) to tell the story of Sing Buri through social history, people, wisdom, culture and the city from the beginning of the city’s establishment to the present. There are 8 exhibitions in total:
1. Sing Buri Treasures
A large number of “evidence” of Sing Buri treasures confirm the importance of Sing Buri since thousands of years ago in prehistoric times, continuing through Dvaravati, Sukhothai, Ayutthaya, Rattanakosin until it became Sing Buri today.
2. Old City Treasures
“Sing Buri people” in ancient times gathered to form scattered villages in various places and continued to develop until the Dvaravati period. They traded with other cities and later became an important provincial city of Ayutthaya during the Singh-Indra-Brahma era. Currently, there are still many treasures that confirm the prosperity of this era in Sing Buri.
3. Soil Treasures
“Kiln City” Sing Buri is a city of industrial production of giant pottery containers. There were hundreds of kilns, producing pottery containers for sale in Ayutthaya. And exported all over the world to Africa. There is an important “signature” that confirms the treasure of Singhburi’s land, which is the “four-eared jar”, the most popular container from Singhburi.
4. Destroyed wealth
“The fall of Ayutthaya” caused Singhburi, which had been prosperous for thousands of years, to decay overnight. The kiln was abandoned and became a thing of the past. Even though Singhburi and nearby townspeople joined hands to “protect the area” until the last person in the “Bang Rachan War”, they could not resist that great battle. The treasure of Singhburi was destroyed along with Ayutthaya.
5. Memorable treasures
“Triple twin cities” Singh - In - Phrom experienced many important changes, from being a city in the middle of ancient states to being a city of the royal children and grandchildren during the Ayutthaya period. Another important change occurred during the reign of King Rama V when Singh - In - Phrom was merged into “Singburi” as a single city.
6. Treasures of Singhburi
“Good city, good people, good things” Singhburi has a lot of hidden treasures of Singhburi. Every corner of every village, every sub-district, every district has a “story” to explore with a variety of people, cultures, beliefs, food and “new things” that play an important role, which are the assets of Singha City today.
7. Wisdom
The “Singburi Model” was invented 1,000 years ago to control water during the dry season and prevent flooding during the flood season with a “spider web” canal at Ban Khu Muang, In Buri. It is believed that Ayutthaya also used this model to dig canals to control water. It is considered an intellectual asset and technology that is consistent with being one of the most watery cities in Siam.
8. Future Assets
“Singburi in Dreams” is a game testing sustainable urban design that can cope with changes and fluctuations in the future with everyone’s imagination to create a city personality in terms of environment, economy, society, people and culture to be a unique city worth living in and visiting for everyone.
