Nagaoka Festival Grand Fireworks
Nagaoka Fireworks - One of Japan's Three Greatest Fireworks Festivals
The "Nagaoka Festival Fireworks Festival" was originally started to comfort the souls of the deceased and pray for peace.
The end of World War II, August 1, 1945. On this day, more than 1,000 lives were lost due to bombs being dropped in Nagaoka. In order to restore the old town and make Nagaoka prosperous again, starting from the second year, the "Nagaoka Revival Festival", the predecessor of the Nagaoka Festival Fireworks Festival, was held.
The opening ceremony was kicked off by the white "White Chrysanthemum" fireworks. They are fireworks that symbolize comfort for those who lost their lives in the Nagaoka air raid.
The famous "Sansakudama" that represents "Nagaoka Fireworks":
The size of the fireworks bloom itself is determined by the size of the fireworks ball. The firework in the picture above has a diameter of 90cm, a weight of 300kg, and the amount of gunpowder used is 80kg! This is the maximum weight allowed by law now. This firework ball reaches the sky and blooms into a huge flower with a diameter of 650m.

[How to Attend the Nagaoka Fireworks Festival]
#GlobalTravel #Niigata #Nagaoka #Nagaoka Fireworks Festival
Last time I talked about one of the trips was to the Nagaoka Fireworks Festival
This time I want to talk more: how to draw admission + recommended viewing locations
The Nagaoka Fireworks Festival is one of the three major fireworks festivals in Japan
In two days, 20,000 fireworks will be set off🎇
📅Hold on August 2nd and 3rd every year
⏰ Starts at 7:20 and ends at 9:10 on both days
📍Shinano Riverside
The official has changed the system in recent years, from the previous no reservation to provide reserved seats, need to pay in advance to have the best viewing experience, it is recommended to pay attention in May when the official start to draw the conference designated seats tickets, the official website is divided into overseas + Japan domestic two channels draw tickets, overseas will close earlier
However, if you can't draw a ticket, you can actually go to the river bank early to find a seat. The Japanese usually set up a picnic mat early that morning, or even the night before
⭐️ Personally would recommend the lawn near the Waterway Park, more people, but the location is quite good, see the fireworks will not feel very far!

Nagaoka Fireworks Festival|Another item on my bucket list completed
Of course there must be fireworks displays in summer! The Nagaoka Fireworks Festival was a masterpiece, and we also encountered a stunning sunset. After getting off the Shinkansen, as the crowds of people moved through the surging crowd, people speaking different languages sat side by side, gathering together to cheer for every firework that exploded. Happiness becomes tangible at this moment. My first Yukata Fireworks Festival was a fun and touching memory, and I completed another item on my bucket list. #fireworksfestival #fireworksfestival2024 #japanfireworksfestival

The bombing of the US military made 80% of the city Scorched earth, 1485 lives were swallowed by the burning sea, and Nagaoka City became a hell on earth.
