During August-November (rainy season), come here, "Chan Ta Thera Waterfall" is a small waterfall that is refreshing. If you intend to play in the water, I do not recommend coming during low water (December-February) because the water will be very low. Instead, go bird watching, especially rare birds like hornbills.
There are 5 levels of the waterfall. If you like less people, go to the higher levels. But the beauty is not much different. According to the staff... Level 4 is considered the most beautiful level (walk into the forest for about 1 kilometer). But we didn't go there because the path is too far into the rainforest. It looks difficult to walk and it is slippery during the rainy season. I was afraid of getting tired. 🤣
The waterfall is not far from Khao Kheow Zoo. It is about 15 kilometers from Sukhumvit Road. There is a park entrance fee and a car entrance fee. It is in the Khao Kheow-Khao Chomphu Wildlife Sanctuary, so you can walk and enjoy nature to the fullest. Pa Pa 🌳

Exploring Chan Ta Thoen Waterfall
Chan Ta Thoen Waterfall: A Hidden Natural Gem in Khao Khiao Forest, Offering a Charming Hiking Trail Near Bangkok
Nestled within the lush and fertile Khao Khiao–Khao Chomphu forest in Chonburi province lies a serene waterfall — Chan Ta Thoen Waterfall. This destination preserves its raw beauty and tranquil atmosphere, making it a perfect escape into nature.
---
Highlights of Chan Ta Thoen Waterfall:
Chan Ta Thoen Waterfall is a medium-sized waterfall located deep in the forest, featuring five tiers where water cascades over large rock formations into pools below.
Although it’s not massive or has a strong flow year-round, the crystal-clear water and the peaceful greenery surrounding it make this spot a favorite among light hikers seeking a natural retreat close to the city.
The hiking trail spans approximately 1.5 kilometers and takes about 40–60 minutes to complete. Along the way, you’ll encounter rare forest plants, various vines, and the melodious sounds of birds.
The name "Chan Ta Thoen" originates from a tale about a "monk" who once used this steep path for meditation journeys, requiring significant effort to climb the incline. Hence, the name "Chan Ta Thoen" (meaning "steep monk's path").
Despite the slight steepness, the trail is safe and suitable for beginner hikers or those looking for a light adventure during their holidays.

Chanta Thae Waterfall, Chonburi
Chanta Thae Waterfall is a very beautiful waterfall, especially during the rainy season when there is a lot of water. This area is a lush forest located in the Khao Kheow-Khao Chomphu Wildlife Sanctuary and is the watershed forest of Bang Phra Reservoir. It is the last remaining forest area in Chonburi province that still maintains its richness and biodiversity. There is also a camping area here for camping enthusiasts.
The waterfall has a total of 6 levels, including Noen Ta Thae, Aeng Ta Thae, Hub Ta Thae, and Chan Ta Thae. The total distance of the waterfall to the highest level is about 1 kilometer.
