Khlong Phrao Waterfall, Chumphon
Khlong Phrao Waterfall, also known as "Thap Chang Waterfall," is located in Thung Tako District, Chumphon Province, within the Ngao Waterfall National Park. It is one of the most beautiful and tranquil waterfalls, perfect for those seeking to truly immerse themselves in nature.
🌿 Highlights of Khlong Phrao Waterfall
The waterfall consists of five tiers, with the third tier being the most remarkable. Water cascades down from a cliff approximately 36 meters high, hitting rocks and a pool below, creating a misty spray that resembles rainfall. This creates a refreshing and picturesque atmosphere.
The hiking trail starts from the fifth tier and descends to the first tier. The path is relatively easy, making it suitable for visitors who enjoy trekking and want to experience nature up close.
🏕️ Atmosphere and Facilities
The area around the waterfall has no shops, accommodations, or other facilities, except for a camping ground for those who wish to stay overnight in the forest. It is ideal for visitors looking to escape the hustle and bustle and connect with nature.
To reach Khlong Phrao Waterfall, take Highway 41 (Thung Tako- Lang Suan) to kilometers 57-58, just before Lang Suan District. Turn right into Ban Muang Nai Kud, following a paved road for about 12 kilometers, then continue on a dirt road for another 3 kilometers.
📌 Precautions
Since there are no facilities at the waterfall, visitors should bring their own food, drinking water, and necessary supplies.
Check the weather conditions before traveling, especially during the rainy season, as the trail may become slippery and hazardous.
