[Suvarnabhumi Airport, Bangkok, Thailand] How to enter and leave the country after May 2025🔥
From May 1, 2025, all foreigners entering Thailand must pre-register for a Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC) online before entering the country.
You can also apply at the airport upon arrival, but it can take a long time if it's crowded, so don't forget to pre-register! (This is required when entering Thailand, regardless of whether you are entering by land, air, or airport of entry.)
✅Entry information
You must register your "Thailand Digital Arrival Card" online between 3 days before the date of entry and the day of entry.
The items you need to enter are passport information, flight information (for travelers without a visa, return flight information as well), and information about your place of stay in Thailand.
Even if you have been to Thailand many times, you will need to register every time you enter the country!
After registering online, a QR code will be sent to the registered email address, so save it so that you can present it when entering the country☝️
✅Departure information
Automated lanes have been introduced, making departure relatively smooth.
Many airlines also have online check-in terminals, so you may not have to line up at the check-in counter!
However, if you have luggage or depending on the airline, you may need to line up at the counter, and it may be crowded, so it's better to arrive at the airport 2-3 hours before!
If you have tax-free procedures, you can do so at the counter near entrance 10 at the back 📝 (You must do this before checking in.)
✅ Access to Suvarnabhumi Airport ↔️ Bangkok city center
• Airport Link (Train)
Recommended if your hotel is close to the station, you don't have a lot of luggage, and you won't be affected by traffic jams!
You can transfer to the MRT (subway) at Makkasan Station or the BTS (monorail) at Phaya Thai Station on the Airport Link.
Depending on the location, you can get to the hotel in about an hour in major areas.
✅ Taxi
If you have a lot of luggage or multiple people, I recommend using it.
However, it is easily affected by traffic jams (Bangkok's traffic jams are said to be some of the worst in the world), and you also have to communicate with the driver, so it's not very recommended. There are still some rip-offs, so be sure to check if the meter is being used when you get on.
Many drivers only speak Thai, and there seem to be some issues with drivers not understanding the location of the hotel or other pick-up destination.
For taxis, I recommend the ride-hailing app Grab.
Register your destination and pay in advance for a smooth ride. The Grab stop at Suvarnabhumi is on the first floor. (The arrival floor is on the second floor)
✅Traveling by train or taxi is a bit of a hassle, so if you want to travel smoothly and safely, make sure to pre-book a shuttle car on Trip.com☝️
