Bangkok: A five-hour Michelin marathon 13/12/2024
Nusara has been hard to book lately.
Because the nights in cool seasons are more comfortable or because everyone is now thinking about how to spend the Christmas and New Year's Eve holidays.
One of my favorite parts of Nusara is the amazing view from the second floor glass view room and dining area. I've been here many times and found that their menu will be adjusted according to the season, ingredients, and wine license.
Generally, after booking, you will be given a complete menu of 12 dishes (and drinks). Upon arrival, you will be led to the view room on the second floor to rest, usually except for aperitifs. I would also ask the waiter to open all the wines with the meal and try them. At the same time, the sobering up process was carried out. This detail shows that I am a person with little patience.
Nusara’s wines are mostly sparkling and white, slightly sweet. The cocktails are sweeter! The ingredients on the menu are mainly local Thai seafood, vegetables and meat. The spices and chilies are heavy. Therefore, sweeter wines will combine the weight of the food and strike a delicate balance.
I would personally order an extra bottle of red wine. The sourness and fruitiness of tannins are more suitable for grilled pork and roast beef.
The presentation of the dish and the treatment of some seafood are inspired by the Japanese kaiseki cuisine. The utensils and shapes used in plating are also more in line with Asian aesthetics, yes! In fact, it is closer to Kaiseki aesthetics.
Service is the best thing about Nusara. The sense of boundaries is well grasped. The atmosphere and ambient music have been designed and matched.
Main courses and some special dishes. The ingredients will be specially brought out for introduction. Some cooking can be watched. This kind of interaction gives a good experience.
Normally, it takes about 2-3 hours to finish all 12 dishes. If it's weekend and the reservation is full. Five hours is standard.
But good food, good wine, and great views. The five-hour Michelin marathon was worth it.
