An ancient site and an important sacred place, there is a footprint of the Lord Buddha enshrined on a sharpening stone (a knife sharpening stone) which has a crack in the shape of a real footprint of the Lord Buddha and is registered as an ancient site. In addition, there is a large white stucco Buddha image, Phra Chao Yai Phuttha Chaphan Rangsi, and the body is decorated with small mirrors for worship. Another striking thing that catches the eyes of visitors is the stucco figure of a silver buffalo located in the parking lot at the entrance. In addition to the viewpoint on the top, there is also a rabbit feeding point. The way up may be a bit steep and winding, so drive carefully. Wat Phra Phutthabat Phu Kwai Ngern
Wat Phra Phutthabat Phu Khao Ngern, a beautiful temple in Chiang Khan, is located in Ban Pha Baen, Tambon Bu Hom. This is where the long footprint of the Buddha is enshrined on a knife-whetstone, which both locals and tourists pay homage to. There is also a belief that only people with merit can come up to pay homage to this footprint of the Buddha, because in the past, the path to the temple was very difficult. In addition, there is a rabbit garden in the temple area, which is where many types of rabbits live, and tourists can also feed the rabbits.

What temple has so many rabbits and big wild boars?
Today, we are still in Chiang Khan as usual. Chiang Khan has many temples, but we will take you to Wat Phra Phutthabat Phu Khao Ngern. This temple is on a mountain. For those who are not properly dressed, there are sarongs for you to wear. You can wear them to take pictures. After paying respects, you can feed the rabbits and wild boars. The wild boars are very big. There are also many rabbits. They are very cute. Another highlight here is the viewpoint. Walk up a little bit and you can see the view all around. I recommend coming in the morning to see the sea of fog. #MissingNature #BeautifulTemplesAcrossThailand #ThaiTemple #ChiangKhanIsAChicCity #VisitChiangKhan #ChiangKhan

😊If you have a chance to visit Chiang Khan, you must not miss visiting this Buddha footprint.
🐰One of the highlights of this place that you must not miss is the rabbit garden. It is a place where many types of rabbits live. We can also feed the rabbits. There are not only rabbits here. There are also chickens and wild boars that are very big and very hungry.
🍃Walk a little further and you will find the viewpoint here. The uncle who lives there also said that in the morning there is a sea of fog. It is a pity that we came but we did not see it. 555
😲Plus, there is also a Luang Por Than Jai here for us to worship and ask for blessings. There are both fortune sticks and lifting stones that can be lifted and not lifted. Finally, I hope that the blessings that everyone and I asked for will come true as we wish. Amen. 🙏

Nong Phonethida
Wat Phra Phutthabat Phu Khuai Ngoen, Chiang Khan, Loei Province.
I saw this temple on the Chiang Khan travel list, and since it's on the way from Chiang Khan to Nong Khai Province, I decided to stop by to pay respects to the Buddha (and to see the rabbits too 🤩).
The journey is easy; the entrance is right off the main road. The drive up the hill is not steep, and the parking lot is spacious.
Upon arrival, it was clear that this is an important temple. We went in to pay respects to the Buddha and see the Buddha's footprint, then went to see the rabbits. There are so many! I wonder if they are intentionally raised or if someone released them here. 😁

Buddha's Footprint on Phu Kwai Ngern
In the past, this temple was an abandoned temple, but there were often wandering monks who came to set up their tents to practice meditation. In the temple area, there is a footprint of the Lord Buddha under a large brick arch, big enough for two people to sit in. In the local dialect, this type of structure is called "Ubumung", which later became the name of the village to the east of the temple, Ban Ubumung. In this Ubumung village, there was a farmer who often brought his buffalo up to find grass to eat on the mountain near the temple. Whenever a wandering monk passed by, this farmer would bring food to offer to the wandering monk regularly. The merit of this offering made the farmer earn a lot of money from selling rice every year, until he became a millionaire. And because of the gratitude of the buffalo that helped plow the rice fields tirelessly, the farmer called this buffalo "Silver Buffalo". The temple was therefore named "Wat Phra Phutthabat Phu Kwai Ngern" according to this story.
