A 2,000-year-old pagoda in the middle of the Mekong River
“Learn to be still sometimes, learn to be stupid sometimes. That’s how you win and become smarter.” 🙏Phra That Klang Nam or Buddha’s Footprint in the Middle of the Water
🙏There is only one time a year that you can go and pay homage. Why? The answer is because you have to wait for the Mekong River to recede before you can see the Phra That emerge.
🙏In the past, you had to charter a boat to go to the middle of the Mekong River and pay money.
🙏Nowadays, you don’t have to because government agencies and villagers have built a bridge or a raft house that extends all the way to the middle of the Mekong River right at the Phra That.
🙏For those who are going, set your coordinates at Wat Phra Bat Wen Pla, Tambon Wen Phra Bat, Amphoe Tha Uthen, Nakhon Phanom Province.
🙏Open all the time. P.S. Be careful not to slip because of the algae clinging to the rocks.

Pay homage to Phra That Mahachai, the pagoda for Wednesday afternoon
Phra That Mahachai is enshrined at Wat That Mahachai, Pla Pak District. The current pagoda was created by Luang Pu Khamphan Khosapanyo to cover the original pagoda to make merit for His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej on the occasion of his 50th anniversary of accession to the throne in 1996. Inside are the relics of the Lord Buddha and the relics of the Arahants, Phra Anya Konthanya, Phra Sariputta, and Phra Anurud. It is believed that whoever pays homage to Phra That Mahachai will experience victory in life, will be a person who coordinates all ten directions, will speak well, and will have smooth business. When speaking, people will trust them.
