And in this village, there is a beautiful, quiet resort with a good atmosphere for us to relax and recharge, which is Rai Saeng Arun. This is a resort that combines agricultural tourism with a health resort. The resort is spacious and divided into 2 sides with a paved rural road in the middle. There are 5 types of accommodation: Ban Rim Khong, Ban Bueng Bua, Ban Phiang Or, Ban Duen Chaem, and Ban Saeng Arun. Each type has its own unique features and beautiful views. Some rooms may not be suitable for the elderly because you have to walk up the hill. We wanted a room by the Mekong River 1, so we booked early in the year (we traveled in October). But we still didn't get the room by the Mekong 2 instead. Inside the room, there is a mini bar, refrigerator, kettle, tea/coffee/snacks/instant noodles/air conditioner/fan/cable TV. The bathroom is semi-open air, giving a feeling of taking a shower in the middle of nature. There is a balcony to sit and enjoy the view of the Mekong River, which is on the opposite bank of the border of Laos. The weather was nice when we went. We had the opportunity to take pictures of the Mekong River, both in the mist and in the fresh green atmosphere. 🍽️ Breakfast is served as a set. The accommodation is simply decorated but filled with love and the essence of Lanna culture, using local woven fabrics and wooden furniture, as well as paintings adorning the walls along the corridors. The rooms here are individual houses, with only 14 units available. Rai Saeng Arun was inspired by the desire to combine agricultural tourism with a health resort amidst beautiful nature. Additionally, there are activities for guests to experience the simple life of farmers.

The journey from Chiang Rai was quite comfortable. I stayed in Chiang Saen for one night before. It took about 45 minutes to drive from Chiang Saen, and the roads were good all the way. The accommodation is very large but there are only 14 houses. The accommodation is divided into two zones with a road in between. I slept on the side next to the Mekong River. The room was a bit small but not far to walk. The rooms in the other zone are a bit further to walk, passing through rice fields, about 800 meters away on the hill. The rooms are as shown in the pictures, with a cabin feel at the edge of the rice fields with an outdoor shower. The room has everything including a free mini bar, but no hair dryer. The food is delicious, everything is very fresh, harvested from the farm and cooked right away. You can order food here until five in the evening. Dinner can also be ordered in advance; they will deliver it to your room in a pinto because everyone finishes work and goes home at 5:30. For breakfast, you can choose between rice porridge or an American breakfast, which can be ordered at 8 a.m. There are bicycles available at the farm for riding along the Mekong, the air is very fresh. In the morning, monks come for alms. Prepare to stay for a long time when you come here. It's peaceful, clean, with good air, and you can listen to the sound of the Mekong River flowing all day.
