Flash Mob Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand
[Background Information]
1) This trip was a spur of the moment trip, and the hotel was chosen the day before departure. The hotel's basic facilities and environment were not researched before making the decision, and the choice was mainly based on the geographical location of the trip.
2) This time we stayed on the 4th floor (originally on the 1st floor, but changed rooms due to problems with the toilet facilities). The photos only showed the environment inside the room on the 1st floor, but the facilities in the two rooms were the same. The only difference was that the room furnishings changed due to the different locations. Due to the limited number of photos uploaded, I will not post photos of the hotel's exterior, and will mainly upload photos related to myself.
[Transportation and Geographical Location]
1) The hotel is not far from the river, and there is a private road at the front door, which is convenient for parking and taxis. After staying there for 2 days, I noticed that there were often Tuk Tuks or taxis passing by the door to pick up passengers, so there is no need to worry too much about transportation.
2) As the trip was short, we did not go shopping near the hotel, and we were not sure if there were any shopping malls nearby. However, we did notice on the map that there was a 7-11 convenience store about 5 minutes’ walk away. But for lazy people like us, it would feel very far away if it was not right at the door, so we did not go.
3) The hotel has a restaurant (next to the counter) and a massage parlor. As we go out early and come back late, we only saw 3-4 people eating breakfast in the morning. There was a stall selling mango sticky rice next to the restaurant. The price was neither high nor cheap, so we did not buy any.
[Hotel and Staff Services]
1) I was convinced by the photos of the exterior, but when I arrived, I saw an older hotel. The interior decoration was indeed a bit royal, but it felt like it had not been renovated for a long time.
2) After checking in, someone will help you with your luggage and lead the way (it takes a short walk from the counter to the elevator). They will not leave until all the lights in the room are turned on. The leading staff are very polite. The counter staff were also very polite, but another thing I noticed was that the counter was U-shaped, so I could see other staff members processing guest information on their computers. I wondered if the information I submitted when renting the room could also be seen by other outsiders. As for changing rooms due to problems with the room's toilet facilities, the staff also patiently explained the room change procedures.
3) The only thing to note is that only 1 room card is provided. When you check in at the counter, you need to pay a deposit of 500 Thai baht, which, if I remember correctly, is used as the cost of losing the room card. You can also store your luggage at the hotel for 20 Thai Baht (I stored 2 pieces of luggage after checking out).
[Room environment and facilities]
1) Judging from the elevator, the hotel should only have 4 floors available for accommodation.
2) This time we chose a deluxe room. My first impression after entering the room was that it was very different from the pictures on the website, and I felt a certain sense of loss. The only window in the room is next to the sofa (I forgot to take photos of the street in both rooms). The only view from the 4th floor is the old lower-level terrace of the hotel. The 1st floor is on the same level as the terrace and it looks like no one uses it anymore.
3) The room is square and convenient for luggage storage. The room facilities are as shown in the pictures. One thing to mention is that you need to get the hair dryer from the staff (we usually bring our own), and there is no microwave in the room. A suitcase can be placed between the dressing table and the window. There is no plug near the bed, so all electronic devices can only be charged on the dressing table. There is a wardrobe for two people and two bottles of drinking water are provided. The bed is clean and long enough for me, who is 1.87 meters tall.
4) Toilet facilities include shower towels, 2-in-1 shampoo and body wash, 2 shower caps, 2 toothbrushes and toothpaste, 2 packs of cotton swabs, several sanitary bags, 2 rubber slippers, and a shower curtain at the bathing area. But what I am very dissatisfied with this hotel is the shower head in the toilet (which is also the reason for changing rooms). It looks like it has no cover. The appearance affects the impression of the hotel. The shower head has a strong force and there is no portable shower. When changing rooms, the staff also said that other rooms have the same problem, but the shower head in the room on the first floor is in a particularly serious condition, so they changed our room. The windows are equipped with gauze curtains and blackout blinds. There is a small portable shower next to the toilet.
[Summary]
The difference between the room and the photos affected my mood, and there was also a problem with the shower head in the bathroom. The hotel's appearance and the surrounding facilities were not good. Although I did not research the hotel in advance before choosing it, the overall experience was a bit different from that of ordinary hotels. I think it is better not to choose this hotel unless necessary.
