Koh Samet - Finished every time!
“Koh Samet” is a famous tourist attraction in Rayong Province. It is an island that is not too small or too big, located in the eastern Gulf of Thailand, Ban Phe Subdistrict, Mueang District, Rayong Province.
When talking about Koh Samet, a tourist attraction that everyone is probably familiar with, many people probably think of the literature Phra Aphai Mani by Sunthorn Phu because it is believed that Koh Samet is a wonderful glass island in literature. Koh Samet is an island in Rayong Province, not far from Bangkok. It is easily accessible by both private car and public bus. The island is only about 6.5 kilometers from the coast of Ban Phe. On the island, there are both resorts, restaurants, and entertainment venues, as well as various water activities. If anyone wants to try diving at Koh Samet, there are coral diving, squid fishing, kayaking, jet skiing, banana boating, etc. Or if anyone doesn't like crowded places, on the other side of the island, there is also a quiet bay where you can relax. It is an island that is just as beautiful as the islands in the South.
Best months to visit: October - April because it is the tourist season. There are no monsoons. The sea water is clean, clear, and calm, suitable for walking along the beach, swimming in the sea, and doing various water activities.
For travel methods, if you come by private car, you can park your car at the Ban Phe pier. There will be someone to watch the car for you. It is convenient and safe. However, if you choose to come by public bus, you can take a tour bus or van at Mo Chit and Ekkamai bus stations. It takes only about 4 hours to reach Rayong Province. Then you can choose to take a songthaew to Ban Phe. The songthaew will pick you up and drop you off at the Rayong bus station.
When you arrive at Ban Phe, you can choose to board at any pier, whether it is Sri Ban Phe Pier, Chok Kritsada Pier, Saphan Mai Pier, Nuanthip Pier, or Ban Phe Municipality Pier. The boats leave 24 hours a day. As for traveling on Koh Samet, there are both songthaews and motorcycles for rent all the time. We can choose according to each person's style. If you are a bit adventurous, I recommend renting a motorcycle to ride around the island. I guarantee that it's worth it. 😁
