Natural scenery

Saiyok National Park is located in the northeast of Kanchanaburi Province, adjacent to Burma's Thrindayi Province. It is a forest park covering an area of 500 square kilometers. The park is mostly deciduous and dry evergreen broad-leaved forests, which are also mixed with many bamboos. The low-lying areas along the Kwae River are teak forests, which were felled during the Japanese invasion of Thailand, and trees were not replanted until 1954. There are also many wild animals in the park, such as elephants, gibbons, bark deer, as well as many rare animals such as hornbills and pig-nosed bats.
