Sakurakoen Park's Two Major Flower Viewing Spots
Located next to Sakurakoen Park, Sakurakoen Park boasts two major flower viewing spots. The first is the Azalea Garden's Observation Plaza, and the second is Cherry Blossom Hill.
The Azalea Garden in Sakurakoen Park is home to 43,000 azalea plants comprising 11 different species. From the Observation Plaza, visitors can enjoy a sweeping view of the vibrant sea of azalea flowers, which is claimed to be the largest scale azalea garden in the Northeast. Additionally, right next to the Azalea Garden, a wisteria trellis has been constructed. Since the blooming periods are similar, visitors can also admire the beautiful wisteria flowers at the same time. Cherry Blossom Hill is planted with 1,000 cherry trees, ranging from the famous Somei Yoshino cherry trees to mountain cherries and double-flowered cherries.
