Wat Pa Kung, the Borobudur of the Northeast📍
This time in Roi Et, we were lucky to have the opportunity to visit these places: the sandstone pagoda at Wat Pa Kung, Sri Somdet District, and the Maha Chedi Chai Mongkol at Wat Phanamthip, Nong Phok District, Roi Et Province.
From the history of this temple, in addition to being the residence of Luang Pu Sri Maha Wiro, a famous monk in the northeast, there are also interesting places inside the temple, which are the large sandstone pagoda made from natural sandstone, the first in Thailand, which was built as a replica of Borobudur in Indonesia, and the Luang Pu Sri Maha Wiro Memorial Pagoda, which was built after his death on August 16, 2011, to house the remains of Luang Pu.
The temple is shady, the paths are beautiful and very clean. After walking a short distance, you will find the Luang Pu Sri Maha Wiro Memorial Pagoda, which is in the middle of the water, very shady and cool.
