Bangkok | The artistic painted walls are worth a walk to feel the artistic cells of the locals
Walking into Painted Alley is like entering a visual feast. The walls on both sides of the alley are covered with colorful graffiti and large murals, which combine traditional Chinese elements, local Thai culture, and modern art styles. It makes people unable to help but take pictures while walking.
The graffiti here is not just decoration, but more like a street story. Every wall tells a story of Talat Noi’s history and transformation.
Moreover, this place is extremely popular with foreign tourists. Regardless of whether it is a weekday or a holiday, you can always see many tourists taking photos with their mobile phones or cameras. It is a paradise for literary youths and photography enthusiasts. You can discover new surprises every few steps, it's well worth exploring again and again!
In addition, there are many retro cafes and hipster shops hidden around Talat Noi. The buildings retain colonial style and Chinese wooden elements. Taking a walk among them, time seems to slow down.

Elephant to Left Bangkok Tratchai
#2024Travel Review
Talad Noi means "small market". It is a Chinese community in Bangkok's Chinatown and one of the earliest Chinese settlements. In the past, Nedu was a small business alley with many ancient buildings. With its development in recent years, it has become one of the popular spots for young people in Thailand to check in. It is full of street art, Chinese cafe restaurants, etc.
The 2024 Bangkok Colorful Elephants are on display here, curated by the social enterprise Elephant Parade, and designed by different artists and celebrities. Each one has a unique appearance, ranging from large to small. The purpose of the annual exhibition is to raise elephant welfare and social awareness of animal care.
Walking around, you will feel the artistic atmosphere. The interesting and vivid murals on the walls, coupled with the silly appearance of the elephants, create a unique scene.

.
My first #Thailandtrip and my first #overseastrip in 2 years and 4 months since the pandemic!! This place that I had been looking forward to since before my trip was #Taladnoi, a hot place in Bangkok that is rising ~
After looking around Sohang Thai Mansion and walking outside for a while... I saw the symbol representing Taladnoi. It was a rusty brown old Beetle car!!
It is said that this entire neighborhood was originally settled by Chinese Hokkien immigrants and operated a car and boat repair shop or a shopping street selling related parts...
Then, I wonder if this abandoned car became an unintentional art installation and eventually became the mascot of this place.
Moreover, it went well with the brown brick wall, and the Southeast Asian hat hanging on the wall had the word TALADNOI written on it, so it became a representative photo zone...

Enjoy art at Talad Noi
#Art #tripFreeAccommodation
🎨Today we will take you to see #Art in Talad Noi area. Recently, Talad Noi has become more popular due to reviews of old restaurants and famous coffee shops. In the past, there were some art spots in this area, but now Talad Noi has become another very interesting street art.
🎨Talad Noi, especially Soi San Chao Rong Kueak, has become an art street with paintings along the walls and street photography exhibitions on both sides of the road. The pictures are very beautiful, especially the photographs. Many of the pictures are pictures that we see in our daily lives, but just changing the angle makes the picture incredibly beautiful.
🎨If you are an art lover or a photographer, you should not miss this. It is considered a highlight of this area.
📍Location: Talad Noi, Soi San Chao Rong Kueak, Samphanthawong District
🚗There is no parking, so you should not drive here. We took a boat, which was very convenient. Get off at the Port Authority Pier and it is not far.

Bangkok Talatnai Alley and Hot Cafe
Talatnai Alley, which became famous after the Kosicok.
When taking public transportation, go to Saphan Taksin BTS, then take an orange boat from Sathorn Pier and get off at Marine Department. It's close.
There are Chinese-style murals and exotic and trendy cafes such as Hong Xieng Kong and Ban Lim Nam, so it's good to visit the alley and stop by a cafe.
I stopped by Ban Lim Nam where you can sit and lie down.
And there is a free shuttle bus stop to Icon Siam right next to Royal Orchid Sheraton, so it's perfect for planning your next schedule to Icon Siam.
#BangkokTourism Let's go to Citizen Tea Canteen, a tea shop hidden in Talad Noi area. I've heard the name for a while, and when I had the chance to visit Talad Noi, I had to stop by. The shop is hidden in Talad Noi community. At first, I couldn't find it because I had to turn into a small alley. But because the shop is bright orange, it's easy to notice.
Inside the shop, there are many decorations. You can sit and sip tea on both the ground floor and the second floor. As for the menu, there are Thai tea, black tea, and herbal blended tea. But Thai tea has the most to choose from, up to 4 profiles, with different flavors, strengths, aromas, and colors. The shop's recipe is less sweet and uses organic milk.

Explore Talad Noi: Bangkok's Hidden Cultural Gem
Tucked away by the Chao Phraya River, Talad Noi is one of Bangkok’s oldest and most atmospheric neighborhoods, full of heritage, creativity, and character. 📍 Bangkok’s Coolest Canvas: Song Wat & Talad Noi
Come for the graffiti. Stay for the ghosts of trade routes and tea.
Tucked along the Chao Phraya, Song Wat Road and Talad Noi aren’t “hidden gems”—they’re straight-up hotspots. Think: Bangkok’s version of a moody Wes Anderson set with a Chinese heritage remix. Every crumbling shophouse? Photographed. Every cat? Immortalized on someone’s film camera. It’s a gritty-lovely maze of alleys that arty tourists, soft-launch couples, and sneakered locals weave through for a hit of nostalgia and neon.
🖌️ Song Wat was literally drawn by King Rama V after a 1906 fire—his royal sketch became a vital road linking the port with Chinatown. It grew into a trading hub for Thai-Chinese elites (we’re talking families who’d go on to found Bangkok Bank and CP Group). Today? It’s where warehouses turn into design studios, and coffee shops pour espresso next to Buddhist shrines.
🐲 Talad Noi, its scrappier sister, dates back over 200 years. Once home to Portuguese traders and later Chinese immigrants, it’s now an open-air gallery of graffiti-tagged walls, rusted car parts, Hokkien signage, and very patient aunties. You’ll spot mural-covered alleys near temples and old garages—Instagram gold, but still weirdly sacred.
📸 Expect: graffitied dragons, tangled electrical wires, vintage Lambrettas, banyan trees bursting through walls, and couples doing pre-wedding shoots in full formalwear while you sip iced oolong nearby.
🗺️ How to go: MRT Hua Lamphong → exit toward Chinatown → walk into the heat haze of heritage and street art. Or ferry to Ratchawong Pier and stroll from Song Wat down into Talad Noi.
✍️ This isn’t just another “walkable arts district.” It’s Bangkok’s living memory—painted over, peeled back, and beautiful in the most chaotic, cinematic way.

We walked around the shops, cafes, and there are both Khanom Jeen, fresh fruit juices, and souvenirs. There are also traditional desserts. You have to try them! There are both crispy and sticky rice snacks. Once you try them, you will definitely love them.
It's time for lunch! We tried the famous boat noodles in the market. We ordered pork waterfall noodles. The taste was very spicy. I have to say that you must not miss it!
After we were full, we walked to see the local art. There were both paintings and sculptures. It was very fun to look at and we also learned a lot.
Before going back, we stopped at a fresh juice shop to try coconut and orange juice. It was very refreshing!
