Living in a fairy tale within an oil painting
Princes and princesses can share the same body~ but whether prince or princess, the soul is left here.
The ancient check-in registration is full of ritual, as if signing a contract for a soul exchange. I finally understand the feeling of the Little Mermaid, willing to exchange her most precious possession for love-at-first-sight. Hence, since moving in here, my soul has been exchanged here.
To live and be loved, The Mustang Blu's founding team started this project because of such a beautiful phrase. Of course, in the historic district of Chinatown, there are actually many beautiful old buildings, some even better than this one. But for this project, many issues had to be considered, such as the drainage system, building stability, number of guest rooms, and whether it can give people a love-at-first-sight feeling. After various considerations, they chose this building. The building was formerly the Boai Hospital, which saved many lives and helped many recover their health, a hospital that rescued the dying and healed the injured, which coincidentally perfectly matched the concept of 'to live and be loved.' Thus, the team began to rebuild this old building. Due to its age and outdated facilities, the team went through a long period of working in the dark before finally creating the Mustang Blu as it is now.
At first, I always thought it was a Bangkok version of the Shamian Building, with very similar architectural structures and hotel and dining concepts~ But when you really get to know it, you'll find it's much, much different. It has a truly warm story and a very heartwarming project concept, not just pure business and pretense. Both the exterior and interior have many more elements of purity and authenticity.
From the restaurant's offerings (especially the visual presentation) to the guest rooms, every diner or guest will feel pampered; everyone is a prince or princess, so you deserve the most beautiful, you are loved.
Honestly, Thai artists and designers have never let me down, whether they take a commercial path or not, their works are truly storied, sentimental, thoughtful, and seriously completed.
This hotel is actually a typical example of a subjective style. Although I have a personal preference for it, some explanations are still necessary for some guests. First, the environment is just like this, you have to accept it. Second, it is not really a hotel group, so you can't expect the service and all the details to be as high-end as those of luxury hotels. Moreover, it does have a fatal weakness, that is, there is no elevator, luggage needs to be carried (hotel staff will help you carry it); located in the bustling area of CHINA TOWN, the old house has poor sound insulation, and it will be very, very noisy at night (the hotel provides 3M earplugs), so it's not suitable for those who have trouble sleeping. The breakfast is quite rich, a full set is prepared (choose the items the night before), full of ritual, and in the morning the restaurant does not open to the public, only for hotel guests. The location is excellent, situated in the old town area of CHINA TOWN, surrounded by various old buildings suitable for walking the streets, and there is also a variety of food.
It's a style I personally favor, so I quite love it, and I can compromise some other things for it~ For those who like this style, it is worth experiencing at least once.
The restaurant will be discussed in a later post (the food presentation is worth a visit)
