Two-colored River, Ubon Ratchathani
Two-Color River is where two important rivers, the Mekong and Mun rivers, meet, resulting in a comparison of the two rivers’ colors, which are clearly different. The Mekong River is a cloudy white, while the Mun River is a greenish blue. This is the origin of the phrase “Khong is cement-colored, Mun is indigo-colored.” The point where the two-colored river can be clearly seen is the area along the bank in front of Wat Khong Chiam.

Two-colored River, Ubon Ratchathani
The Two-Colored River, or as the locals call it, Don Dan Pak Mae Mun, is located in Ban Wen Buk, Khong Chiam Subdistrict, Khong Chiam District, Ubon Ratchathani Province, approximately 84 kilometers from the city center. The Two-Colored River is where two important rivers, the Mekong and Mun Rivers, meet, resulting in a comparison of the two rivers’ distinctly different colors. The Mekong River is a milky white, while the Mun River is a greenish-blue. This is the origin of the phrase “Khong is the color of cement, Mun is the color of indigo.” The two-colored river can be clearly seen from the slopes of the bank in front of Khong Chiam Temple and some areas of Huai Mak Village. April is the month when the color difference is most clearly visible.

Two-Color River Viewpoint
Two-Color River Viewpoint This Two-Color River Viewpoint is a tourist attraction in Ubon, located near Wat Khong Chiam. To get to this place, you can drive to the end of Khong Chiam Village. It might be the end of the village, but I'm not sure. It's also not far from the accommodation, because this area is the center of the accommodation for tourists. There are pavilions around the area to sit and escape the sun and hot weather. The phenomenon of two rivers flowing together creates a contrast in the color of the water of the two rivers, namely the Mun River flowing into the Mekong River. During the rainy season, when the water floods, you can clearly see the two rivers flowing into each other, which are two different colors on the banks. People call it "Khong Si Cement, Mun Si Indigo". When I went at the end of winter, it wasn't very clear. There is also a path down to take pictures near the river. #dreamvoyage

Khong Chiam Temple
Hello, today we are still in Ubon Ratchathani Province.
And today we will take you to Wat Khong Chiam.
In addition to being a place of worship, Wat Khong Chiam
is also another place to see the ‘Two-Colored River’.
What is the Two-Colored River?
The Two-Colored River is the confluence or meeting point
of the Mekong River and the Mun River.
The Mekong River is cement-colored, the Mun River is indigo-colored.
It was the first time we saw it, and we were amazed.
In addition to places to see the river,
there are also many places to take pictures with signs and views around the temple.
If anyone has been there or plans to go, don’t forget to take pictures of the atmosphere and leave a comment for us to see.
