Sirindhorn Wararam Phu Phrao Temple, Ubon Ratchathani Province
Wat Sirindhorn Wararam Phu Phrao, or popularly known as Wat Rueang Saeng, is located in Sirindhorn District, Ubon Ratchathani Province. It is a temple located on a high hill, imitating the environment of Wat Pa Himmapan or Khao Kailas. On the top of the hill, you can see the golden colored chapel standing out majestically. The highlight of the temple is the green glowing image of the Kalpavriksha tree, which is a painting on the back wall of the chapel at night. The best time to visit and take pictures is from 6:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. If you are lucky, you will see many stars in the sky. However, the glowing image is only visible to the naked eye, and it is not as green as when taken with a camera. Therefore, some tourists who come to capture the beauty through their eyes should be prepared a little. In addition to the wonder of the chapel, this temple also has a viewpoint with a view of the Mekong River. Behind the chapel is a viewpoint of the Laos side and the beautiful Chong Mek international border checkpoint, including the reservoir at the foot of the hill, which looks like a lake. Especially during sunset, we will see a large sun, which is a very beautiful atmosphere. For the glowing Kalpavriksha tree, it was designed by Mr. Kunakorn Pariyapunno, who personally installed each piece of mosaic. The inspiration came from the Tree of Life in the movie Avatar. Fluorescent substances or fluorescent substances were used around the tree.
