Traveling to Chiang Mai with family 🛕🌸
This time, I came to Chiang Mai, a small city in northern Thailand with my family.
Without the hustle and bustle of Bangkok, Chiang Mai has a more leisurely and gentle feel, which is just right for the pace of our slow trip.
Every day’s schedule was very relaxing. We would go for a walk in the ancient city together early in the morning, wandering between temples, listening to the melodious bells, and watching the golden pagodas glittering in the morning light. Occasionally when we come across a hawker stall, we stop to have a cup of hand-labeled milk tea, or buy a few skewers of freshly roasted banana leaf glutinous rice and eat them while walking. It is simple and happy.
The afternoon is reserved for the café. Chiang Mai’s coffee culture is very interesting, and each shop hidden in the alleys has its own style. Sometimes it is a forest-like courtyard, sometimes it is a pure white and simple space. Sit down and order a Thai iced coffee, and watch the family chatting, relaxing, taking photos, and everyone enjoying the journey at their own pace.
Of course, some small adventures were also arranged. We went to an elephant conservation center near Chiang Mai together, fed the elephants up close, bathed them, and watched the dad and mom smile as happily as their children. I felt that this moment was so worth it.
The night was another story. We had a great time strolling around the lively night market, picking out handmade items and feasting on Thai cuisine. Spicy Tom Yum Goong, crispy fried bananas, and cool mango sticky rice, each one is full of memories.
During these few days in Chiang Mai, we didn’t have a particularly busy schedule, but because of each other’s company, every little moment became precious. This is probably the meaning of traveling – it’s not about how many places you go, but who you go with.
Looking forward to the next family trip to collect more heartwarming stories together. ❤️
