【Chiang Mai】50 baht kayaking experience, enjoy the tranquil riverside and sunset
There is a temple by the Ping River in Chiang Mai (search Wat fa ham on the navigation), where you can experience kayaking on the Ping River for 50 baht. Walk along the river path on the east side of Chiang Mai towards the temple until you see rows of boat racks and monks on the shore. Pay 50 baht per person to get a life jacket and paddle. There are single and double kayaks. My friend and I chose a double boat.
There are no noisy crowds here, only busy monks, a dog lying on the shore, the sparkling river surface, and a man fishing on the shore. There are often cruise ships passing by on the river. The passengers on the boats and the fishermen on the shore will greet you, and fish in the water will occasionally jump out.
The business hours are from 8 am to 8 pm, and it is recommended to go after 5 pm. There is still sunshine at this time, and it is a bit hot, but it doesn't take long to see the sunset. Personally, I feel that if you go there at this time, you can experience Ping River in three time periods: daytime, sunset and evening. If you wear light clothing, the oars will drip water onto you.
