Worship the Phra Phuttha Kasatrathirat in the Mara-Vijaya posture, Phra Phuttha Chana Mara, Luang Pu Thiam, and the statue of Somdej Phra Phonarat
The original name was Wat Kasattra or Wat Kasattraram, which means a temple of the king or a temple of the king of the land. However, there is no evidence of who built it. It is assumed that it was a temple built by the king or royal family during the Ayutthaya period. It is recorded in the reign of Somdej Phra Suriyamarin that on the 14th waning moon of the 5th month, the Burmese brought cannons to Wat Ratchaphruek and Wat Kasattrawat and fired them into the capital, killing many people. This temple was probably destroyed when Ayutthaya fell, so it was abandoned. During the Rattanakosin period, His Royal Highness Prince Anurak Thewet (Thong In), Krom Phra Ratchawang Bowon Sathan Phimuk (Krom Phra Ratchawang Lang), restored Wat Kasattra and changed its name to Wat Kasatrathirat.
