#WinterTravel
Pha Taem National Park, Ubon Ratchathani
Watch the sunrise before anyone else in Siam. Pha Taem National Park is especially cold during the winter. Tourists often come to camp and stay overnight. If you are lucky, you might see the sea of fog on both sides of the Mekong River. You can also see the view of Laos. Pha Taem National Park covers the areas of Khong Chiam District, Si Mueang Mai District, and Pho Sai District, Ubon Ratchathani Province. It consists of abundant forests, various types of wildlife, and many beautiful natural landmarks, such as Pha Chana Dai, Pha Chan, Soi Sawan Waterfall, Sao Cheliang, Tham Patihan, Phu Na Tham, etc.

Stories told through stone slabs, Pha Taem, Ubon Ratchathani Province
Come to visit Ubon. This is another place that everyone must come to.
Pha Taem National Park is located near the Mekong River, Khong Chiam District.
The border of Thailand.
We drove out of the city for about 2 hours.
The asphalt road is easy to drive. We fell asleep twice and arrived.
The parking lot at Pha Taem is on the cliff. From this point, we can stand and enjoy the view along the cliff. We can look down to the Mekong River, green areas, and Laos in the distance.
The view is worth millions. It is very refreshing. Then we walked down to see the ancient paintings from prehistoric times.
There are many pictures. Some spots have clear colors. Some spots are starting to fade.
But it is enough for us to see what the pictures are.
I would like to invite everyone to come see. Impressive.

The Mekong River is cement-colored, the Moon River is indigo-colored.
Two-Color River Viewpoint
Wat Khong Chiam or Wat Ban Dan Kao, Ubon Ratchathani Province is located on the banks of the Mekong and Mun Rivers, near the Two-Color River Viewpoint.
We will see the two important rivers, the Mekong and Mun Rivers, flowing together, resulting in a natural phenomenon called
"Khong Si Cement, Mun Si Indigo".
We recommend visiting during the rainy season, between May and October.
The water volume will be especially high, allowing us to see its beauty clearly.

Kwangton Waterfall
Kwang Ton Waterfall is a small waterfall that flows down into the valley below before flowing along the groove into the Mekong River. Kwang Ton Waterfall is located in the Dong Na Tham forest area. It is formed by small streams flowing together before falling down a cliff below the waterfall. There is a large rock shelter under the waterfall, about 15 meters high and 5 meters wide. To get to the waterfall, you must have an officer to lead the way because the route is quite difficult. Park your car at the Dong Na Tham base and walk for about 3.5 km. There will be water only during the rainy season from July to October.
You must go if you come to Ubon. It is best to go during the rainy season to see the fog and the Milky Way, which are very rare. Contact us if you want to go.

Porch pillars
Sao Chaliang, a giant mushroom pillar, over a million years old
Sao Chaliang, Ubon Ratchathani Province, is located in Pha Taem National Park, Khong Chiam District, Ubon Ratchathani Province. It is considered a popular historical tourist attraction in Ubon Ratchathani. Each pillar is about 20 meters high and is made of sandstone that has been eroded and eroded by nature, both water and wind, until it has the strange shape that you see.
This sculpture is a sculpture of sandstone from 2 eras: Cretaceous sandstone, which is about 130 million years old, is the mushroom part on top. The other era is Dinosaur sandstone, which is about 180 million years old, is the beginning of the lower pillar. Both parts have been washed away by weather, rain, and storms for millions of years. After a while, there will be a natural resistance process until the pressure of raindrops makes the sandstone stronger, allowing it to be preserved as Sao Chaliang.
In addition to the beautiful Sao Chaliang, there is also a nature trail that the park has set up for tourists to visit. A little further on is the Broken Stone Field, which was formed naturally, very beautiful and worth seeing.

Ban Kon Kham, Khong Chiam
Hello, today I am staying at a place in Ubon Ratchathani Province, Khong Chiam District. The closest accommodation to 7-Eleven and the market in this district. Baan Kon Kham is a budget accommodation. The price is 400 per room. The accommodation has free Wi-Fi. The rooms are clean. There is a place to sit and drink coffee or tea. It is a service of the accommodation. I recommend staying on Friday or Saturday. In the morning, there is a Thai-Lao market next to the accommodation. It is less than 100 meters away. It is also close to 7-Eleven, Big C, mobile phone shops, and Khao Man Kai, a beverage shop. It is only 500 meters from the Mekong River. It is very worthwhile. The air is good. The house opposite is a house where rice vermicelli is freshly made.

Sculpture of the pillars of the terrace, giant stone pillars, more than a million years old
Today, I will share my experience of traveling to Ubon Ratchathani Province. That is Sao Chaliang, Ubon Ratchathani Province, located in Pha Taem National Park. It is considered a popular historical tourist attraction in Ubon Ratchathani. Each pillar is about 20 meters high. It is sandstone that has been eroded and eroded by nature, both water and wind, until it has a strange and amazing appearance. This rock looks like a giant mushroom, about the height of a 2-story building. It can be divided into three parts: the first part is sandstone, which has small sand grains, starting from the ground up to a height of 70-100 centimeters. The second part has various types of coarse sand grains, such as volcanic rock grains, quartz grains, and chert grains. The third part has a sheet-like shape, similar to an umbrella, mostly sandstone.

Soi Sawan Waterfall, Pha Taem National Park
One of the beautiful waterfalls in Pha Taem National Park, approximately 30 kilometers from Khong Chiam District, is a large waterfall flowing from a steep cliff on two sides, formed by the streams of Huai Soi and Lam Sae Pai, converging like a chain before flowing into the Mekong River.
The waterfall is approximately 15 kilometers from the prehistoric paintings viewing point of Pha Taem. Tourists can clearly see the view of the Mekong River, the forest, and the cliffs on the Lao side. The most beautiful time to visit is at the end of the rainy season, the beginning of the cold season, from the end of October to December. This place is also a place to see wild flowers, including the golden garland, Dusita, Mani Deva, and the lotus grass, which bloom in full bloom in the fields during the time when the waterfall is at its most beautiful of the year.

Pha Chanadai is part of Pha Taem National Park, located in Khong Chiam District, Ubon Ratchathani Province.
It is recommended to go in the afternoon, sleep in a tent in front of the park office, and check the up and down times carefully because if it exceeds the specified time, cars will not be allowed to go up.
At night, you can see the stars very clearly. Then, when you wake up early, walk to see the sunrise, the first light of Siam, because this is the reference point for the sunrise in Thailand.
