Admire the Exquisite Murals at Wat Khongkharam, Ratchaburi
It is truly a blessing to visit this temple, one of the most beautiful temples in Ratchaburi province. Wat Khongkharam was originally named Wat Klang, which in Mon language is called Pheia To, meaning Wat Klang. Later, King Rama IV bestowed the new name 'Wat Khongkharam' upon it. This temple is renowned for its beautiful and ancient murals. Outside the ordination hall, there are seven Mon-style stupas, representing the seven Mon lords. The murals start from the entrance of the ordination hall, depicting a stunning image of Buddha. Inside, there are murals illustrating the Ten Jataka tales and various past Buddhas seated on thrones, all of which are incredibly beautiful. Every door of the ordination hall is intricately carved woodwork, which is rare to find.
