An ancient temple, Wat Mahathat Worawihan, is assumed to have been built in the Dvaravati period. Many ancient artifacts have been excavated in the temple. It is considered another temple with historical significance. Inside the main chapel, there is a Buddha statue in the Mara-Vijaya attitude, 8 inches wide at the lap, holding a fan in the left hand, which is very sacred. The locals call it Luang Pho Wat Mahathat. Inside the chapel, on the surrounding walls, there are paintings of the assembly of gods and Jatakas, which are in the Ayutthaya art style by craftsmen from Phetchaburi. Behind the chapel, there is a white, 5-spire prang, 55 meters high, over 1,000 years old, which can be seen from a distance in all directions. It is located in the covered chapel. Inside, hundreds of relics of the Lord Buddha are enshrined. There is also a small chapel, an Ayutthaya-style architecture with a soft, curved base in the shape of a ship.
