The Temple of the Emerald Buddha (WatPhraKaeo) is an important late Sukhothai site within the ancient city walls of Kamphaeng Phet Historical Park, adjacent to the Kam Phra Phra National Museum. Inside the temple are the ruins of the basic Buddhist temple, a pagoda built in the late Sukhothai Kingdom, and numerous Buddha statues made of red bricks. On the east side of the temple, there is a main hall, and there are three partially restored Buddha statues on the west side, one is a reclining Buddha, and the other is a sitting Buddha. There used to be a palace nearby, but now it's in ruins.

For your day 2 of your Thailand itinerary, you can visit the temple shrine there. It would be good for ladies to wear long dresses covering their knees when visiting the temple. In most of the temple, you would have to take off your shoes to enter into the temple. You can make some donations while visiting the temple to show your prayers. Be sure to visit the temple during the morning to afternoon.

Kamphaeng Phet Historical Park
Kamphaeng Phet Historical Park was recognized as a World Cultural Heritage Site in 1991, together with Sukhothai and Si Satchanalai Historical Parks, because evidence of the magnificent beauty of early Thai art can be found in many of the three historical parks. Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn presided over the official opening ceremony of the park on April 8, 1991.
Within the historical park, there are 20 ancient sites within the city walls, the most important of which are Wat Phra Kaew and Wat Phra That. The ancient sites outside the city walls are generally called “Aranyik” and are located outside the city walls to the north, covering an area of approximately 1,611 rai, situated on a small laterite hill. 37 ancient sites have been discovered, the most important of which are Wat Phra Non, Wat Phra Si Iriyabat, and Wat Chang Rop.

[Bangkok] First trip abroad in 2 years
My first overseas trip in 2 years was to Bangkok!
Wat Phra Kaew was more luxurious and worth seeing than I had imagined. The grounds are quite large, so an hour or so is a bit of a rush.
It was hot because it was the hottest time of the year, but it was definitely worth seeing.

Wat Phra Kaew, one of the three major temples in Bangkok, Thailand!
The official name of the Temple of the Emerald Buddha is Wat Phra Kaew. It is a famous tourist spot in Thailand, so it is often visited on local optional tours. Most of the temples in Thailand that are open to tourists have monks, but Wat Phra Kaew does not have monks. This is a place you can't miss when you go to Thailand! 🙌
