- Wat Rat Prakong Tham has a history of construction dating back to 2256 in the late Ayutthaya period. However, it is assumed that it was built earlier. However, due to lack of maintenance, it was in a dilapidated state and there were no monks residing there. As a result, the villagers called it Wat Bat. Later, in 2493, Dr. Daeng Phumlek and the villagers renovated and developed it to be prosperous and changed the name of the temple to "Wat Rat Prakong Tham". The temple received the royal charter of the boundary on January 31, 2505.

❇️ Today, I will recommend a nearby but very enjoyable trip because you will be filled with merit, happiness and food by taking a boat to see the way of life of the Khlong Om Non community in Nonthaburi Province. 🚤
❇️ In terms of tourism, Khlong Om Non is another popular boat route because it used to be part of the Chao Phraya River. Khlong Om Non has an interesting history and is also a canal with beautiful scenery to see along both sides of the canal. 🥰
❇️ This trip, our starting point is Wat Rat Prakong Tham, Bang Yai District, Nonthaburi Province. But before we took the boat, we had heard of this temple's reputation for a long time that it is one of the top Buddhist tourist attractions in Nonthaburi Province. This temple was built around the year 2256. The sacred object of this temple is the large Reclining Buddha (Sleeping Buddha) that is 32 meters long. It is considered the temple with the largest reclining Buddha in Nonthaburi Province. There is also Luang Pho To (Sam Pok Kong) which has been with the temple for hundreds of years.
❇️ After we have made merit and prayed to the Buddha for good fortune, We took a boat along the Om Non Canal. Along the way, we saw the way of life of the canal community, temples, and monasteries along the canal, all of which are old temples. There are cafes with a canal atmosphere, and some cafes are only open on holidays. We stopped by the "Ram Rai" cafe. In addition to being by the canal, it also has a garden atmosphere, shady with large trees. The desserts available include cakes and Thai desserts, which go very well with drinks.
❇️ After we were full of merit and food, we took a boat to the Chao Phraya River, passed under the Maha Chetsadabodin Bridge, and got off at the Bang Sri Muang Municipality Pier to see the atmosphere of the lights at night.
