Wat Ratchathamaram (Wat Phra That Silangu)
Address - Bo Phut Subdistrict, Koh Samui District, Surat Thani Province, near Lamai Beach Zone, on the main road and by the sea
Atmosphere/Place - Wat Ratchathamaram or Wat Phra That Silangu is one of the places on Koh Samui that you should visit. Turn in on the day, there will be a parking lot on the left. This temple is not very big, but there are monks residing there. On the right, there will be a small church, but it is striking with its red color and beautiful shape. If anyone drives past, stop by this church. The red color of the church is not the same, maybe because some parts are hit by water, causing lichen, making it look more beautiful than the same color tone.
On the roof of the church, there are carvings of various gods and angels.
Below the top of the stairs before going up, there are carvings of Naga statues on both sides. Inside the church, there will be the same red tone. There is a principal Buddha image in the middle. The walls on both sides are carved with various gods and angels as well. The floor of the church is covered with red carpet. The air is cool and comfortable, suitable for meditation. Foreign tourists are very interested.
Highlights - Worship the relics of the Lord Buddha. The Phra That Silangu Pagoda is a white pagoda. The top of the pagoda is golden, about 4-5 meters high, located next to the sea, and there are stairs leading down to the sea. Most of the sea here is made up of many small and large rocks. The sea breeze blows coolly and is very peaceful.
There is no charge. You can donate water and electricity bills at the donation box as much as you can afford.
