It is currently enshrined in the ordination hall of Wat Phra Chao Kao Tue, which is a single temple in Chiang Mai. The word “Tue” is a unit of weight for metal in ancient Lanna, with 1 Tue equal to 1,000 kilograms (some texts say 1 Tue weighs 1,200 kilograms). Phra Chao Kao Tue refers to a Buddha image cast from 9,000 kilograms or 9 tons of metal. The outside is just as beautiful as the inside. We were lucky to see monks and other people doing rehearsals for new years celebrations. It's a bit of a distance from the Nimmanhaemin area, but it's a temple you can even walk to. There are many white objects, and it was beautiful. Also, you can often see airplanes taking off from the airport, so I think it's a hidden gem for those who want to see airplanes. You have to take off your shoes to enter the temple. The inside is spacious, glittering, and luxurious. The decorations are impressive, and the Buddha statues are large and impactful. There were also many small Buddha statues around the main Buddha statue. I recommend visiting it along with Nimmanhaemin.
