Wat Pha Pu Kon Thailand
I visited the temple in mid January 2023.
The weather was cool and breezy with slightly humid. The area around wihan has a magnificent mountaintop view with a massive temple court.
Inside the wihan, there's a long statue of a reclining Buddha, beautiful marble floor and wood sculpture with storytelling signs.
If you are bringing the elderly, don't worry. The floor has a good grip, there are ramps for wheelchairs, and handrails for the stairs.
There is also a cloth rental service available for those who are not properly dressed (wearing short pants or a skirt).

I highly recommend this temple for those who love forest temples. It is a peaceful temple with a great view. No matter where you look, you see nature. You can meditate in peace.

In order to follow in the footsteps of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great, Rama IX, in preserving the integrity of the headwater forests, wildlife, and various species of plants as a legacy for Thai descendants along with the land of Thailand, Phukon Forest Temple will be a peaceful place suitable for meditation by meditation monks.

On the way from Chiang Khan to Nong Khai, I drove up and down the mountain with the GPS and saw only forest. I saw the temple sign and thought I would go in and rest. In the end, it turned out to be a famous temple. 🥰
The atmosphere is like a real forest temple. There is a pavilion at the parking lot. There is a statue of the abbot.
And there is a pick-up point for a car service from the temple to the highlight, a large marble reclining Buddha. It is very beautiful up here. The weather is very cool. Surrounded by forests and mountains, it is also a viewpoint.
