Phra Prang Reservoir
Phra Prang Reservoir is located in Watthana Nakhon District, Sa Kaeo Province. It is a lowland for storing water for agriculture. During May to August, there is a water bird watching festival. Many types of water birds live here, mostly snake birds or cormorants that come to eat fish in Phra Prang Dam, which migrate from Australia. The so-called snake birds are because when they dive to catch fish, their necks look like snakes. Phra Prang Reservoir has mountains that are rich with many types of wildlife. Interesting activities include taking a boat ride on a raft to see the natural scenery, fishing, watching wild birds, field birds, and many types of water birds, especially large water birds that are hard to find and near extinction, the “cormorants or snake birds”, where there are reports of up to 70-100 of these birds. It is considered the largest feeding ground for snake birds in Thailand. Phra Prang Reservoir has a restaurant that serves delicious fish at reasonable prices, as well as boat trips.

Lalu
Lalu, one of the wonders of Sa Kaeo Province, is located in Ta Phraya District. It looks like the Phae Mueang Phi in Phrae Province and the “Sao Din Na Noi” (Hom Chom) in Nan Province. Lalu is a natural phenomenon caused by rainwater erosion, collapse or collapse of soil. When eroded by the wind, it takes on various shapes, similar to a cliff wall, which is beautiful and unique, depending on each person’s imagination. The Lalu sculptures are scattered at various points, divided into zones with different beautiful characteristics. The best times are morning and evening because the sunlight shines on the clay sculptures, turning them into a beautiful golden color. At night, you can also ride an e-taek to see the stars that fill the sky alongside the clay sculptures. #NortheasternTeam #WaitingForTheDayToDepart

See colorful butterflies at Pang Sida National Park.
Pang Sida National Park, Sa Kaeo Province is a natural tourist attraction with great beauty and completeness, especially during the butterfly season, which is held between May and July every year. This place is hailed as the "Butterfly Kingdom" with over 400 species of butterflies to see.
In the morning, colorful butterflies fly around the forest and grassland, creating beautiful images like natural artwork. Common species include the large leaf-shaped butterfly, the swallowtail butterfly, and the crow butterfly. If you are lucky, you may encounter rare butterflies such as the Phra Sat butterfly or the Chiang Dao butterfly.
The butterfly trail in the park is well-prepared. There are viewpoints and areas for sitting and resting amidst nature. Tourists can walk, watch butterflies, and take pictures to their heart's content. It is recommended to bring a camera or phone camera to capture impressive moments.

Pang Sida National Park, Sa Kaeo.
This park is both a butterfly watching spot and a waterfall destination. For those who love nature, you can take your partner here for a romantic time. A little tip: visit during the summer if you want to see butterflies, but if you want to enjoy the waterfall, go during the rainy season. This makes Pang Sida National Park, Sa Kaeo, a great destination for both summer and rainy seasons. No matter when you go, the atmosphere is different but equally impressive. Read more at

Pang Sida Waterfall
Pang Sida National Park, Sa Kaeo Province. The weather is nice this time of year, but the waterfall doesn't have much water. There are some butterflies to be seen, but not many. The campsite at km 25 offers beautiful views, but you need to travel another 20 kilometers on a dirt road from Pong Butterfly. (Not recommended for sedans or low cars)
There is no electricity, so make sure to prepare food and water.
- The lower campsite near the visitor center has a wide green lawn.
- Separate male and female restrooms.
- Cooking area and dishwashing sink.
- Security personnel on duty at all times.
- Cooking in front of tents is not allowed, but instant noodles and coffee are permitted.
- For those who enjoy an adventurous atmosphere with beautiful views, the km 25 campsite is recommended, about 20 kilometers from the visitor center.

Take a nature trip to Pang Sida Waterfall and see the beautiful tiger ghost.
Another beautiful national park in Sa Kaeo Province
The first time I came was during the Buddhist Lent. There was a waterfall to play in. There were still some butterflies. Because the time I went was cloudy and rainy😅 Since I've never been there, I wanted to go up to the viewpoint, but this time I couldn't because it had just rained. Small cars shouldn't go up because it's a red dirt road. I'll wait until next time to get to the viewpoint.
Overall, I was very impressed because I like nature anyway. Seeing the green forest made me feel comfortable and relaxed. There weren't many people. It might be because it's not a tourist province. But if you have a chance, try to visit. It takes about 30-40 minutes from the city. #VisitSaKaeo #PangSidaNationalPark #PangSidaWaterfall #ButterflyPond

Butterfly Watching at Pang Sida National Park, Sa Kaeo
Went during the butterfly watching festival. The entrance fee to the park is 40 baht per person and 30 baht for a car. Inside, there are accommodations and camping spots available. However, for day-trippers, there are 3 main attractions:
The first spot is Pang Sida Waterfall, which has parking, a coffee shop, and park facilities. As of June 29, 2014, the waterfall had no water.
The second spot is a butterfly viewing pavilion. This is a checkpoint where visitors must register if they want to go to the viewpoint. There are a lot of butterflies here, but the staff suggests that the best time to see them is early in the morning from 8 to 10 am, and if it rains, the butterflies won't come out.
The third spot is the viewpoint. The road from the second spot to this one is a gravel path, but it's drivable. The road has some potholes. When I went up, it had just stopped raining and the road was still okay. Also, because of the rain, there was fog at the top, which was a pleasant surprise.
For those who want to go up, it will take some time. There are no restrooms at the top, but you can use the ones at the camping area before heading up.

Shall we go to the waterfall? : Pang Sida Waterfall in Sa Kaeo Province.
Pang Sida Waterfall is located in Pang Sida National Park and is considered the most beautiful waterfall in Sa Kaeo Province. The waterfall is about 300 meters away from the park's office and is accessible by foot. It is a three-tiered waterfall with a large pool at the bottom where visitors can swim. The area around the waterfall is covered with trees, creating a very shady and refreshing atmosphere, perfect for a relaxing or chill day. If you visit during the rainy season, you will see a magnificent large waterfall, and during this period, there are many butterflies to be seen, making it an absolutely unseen attraction. I recommend this as a must-visit place.

The Park that are famous for Butterflies
#thailandtrip This national park is famous for butterfly watching. The are a few spots that are very convenient for tourist to observe several species of butterfly licking salt during certain time of the year. Better check before you come to make sure it is the right timing. You can come here by car, bus or train. It takes around 3.30 - 4 hours from Bangkok to Sa Kaeo. The national park is far from Sa Kaeo bus station around 30 - 40 minutes. But travel is all worth it!
