I made the 10 hour drive (with a private driver) from Cairo to Siwa Oasis and discovered a land of pure bliss! Siwa is in the western desert of Egypt and it feels like a completely different place. It has its own people (Berber-speaking Sudanic people) and they live in these really interesting mud houses. There are a few sights to see in Siwa like the Cleopatra Spring, Fatnas Island (best sunset), Salt lakes (such a cool experience), Oracle Temple, Shali Fortress and many more. I spent some time with a local guide who told me all about the history and local culture and I enjoyed my relaxed evenings at the boho campsite where you can choose air conditioned cottages or the simple fanned hotels. My camp provided breakfast and dinner which were always delicious and even though I was on my own, I never felt lonely. There are different types of hotels and camp sites all around Siwa and they offer a calm and peaceful environment. There are also plenty of souvenir stores ones you enter the town side near the fortress and a few local restaurants. #freehotelstay

We stayed in a hotel called Siwa Relax Retreat. It was an Eco Lodge with no electricity in the rooms, just candles. You could charge your phones in the main reception area. The main attraction here is the salt lake in which the rooms are very close to. The rooms have salt rocks on the floor, so you need something on your feet when you get out of bed. The air here is so clean, and sleeping surrounded by salt rocks is very beneficial to your health. #awesomepic

The number one travel destination I want to visit again is Siwa and the Salt Lake in Egypt. Siwa is a village that can be reached by a 13-hour bus ride from Cairo, Egypt. I thought the Dead Sea was only in Jordan, but I went to Siwa in Egypt because it's also there!!! The only way to get there is by bus from Cairo. I saw that it takes 8 hours on a night bus, but I'm already 34 years old lol I was scared of night buses, so I went in a special van with sightseeing and a hotel! To be honest, I was going to see the Dead Sea (Salt Lake), so I said I didn't need sightseeing, right? But I want to give myself a pep talk for saying I didn't need it. I really want to do sightseeing and get a guide and go to all the unknown places. Siwa is so amazing and full of sacred places. Of course, Salt Lake was also amazing, but I really liked Alexander's Temple, and I couldn't stop taking pictures📸💖 However, the food was a little bit unfamiliar to Japanese people💦 I finally felt like I was in a foreign country. The salt flats of Siwa Oasis are truly amazing. The endless white salt plains make you feel like you're on another planet. Actually, swimming in the salt flats was the reason I came to Siwa, but the water was so clear and the salinity was so high that even if you can't swim, you can just float. Even if you just walk in, your legs will float! You have to be careful because the salt crystals are really sharp and you can hurt your feet, and the salinity is really high, so if you get even a little bit of salt water in your eyes, it'll sting really bad ㅠㅜ The ride was so hard, but it was worth it! 📍Siwa oasis #European travel

Siwa is an Oasis city in Egypt that’s built around many underwater springs. There so much to do here from picnics in the desert, historical sights, cultural sights, hot spring spas, salt water lakes (where you can float so easily), salt caves, and Cleopatra’s pool that’s 26ft deep. You will have a blast here. I spent 3 days here and wish I could stay an extra day. Be mindful that the flies here are a persistent breed and lots of mosquitos, so bring long sleeves and pants. And there you can find this beautiful salt lake😍 It was a very beautiful sight that caught my eye the moment I saw it, and it was one of the top five most beautiful sights I've ever seen😆 This salt lake has a very high salt concentration, and when you enter the water your body floats, which was a very fun and new sensation✌️ When you enter the water, the salt clings to your whole body, so I recommend bringing water to wash off the salt! I bought a 2L bottle of water before going to this salt lake. This salt lake is a little far from the center of Siwa, so I recommend using a small mini truck-like taxi🚗³₃ You can get to Siwa, where this salt lake is located, by night bus from Cairo's "Torgoman Bus Terminal". However, there is only one bus per day that leaves at 10pm and arrives at 10am the next morning 🥲 The round trip fare was 960 pounds (about 2,800 yen)!

Coming to the must-visit salt lake in Xiva, it was scheduled for the next morning. Departing from the hotel, it takes about 20 minutes to reach the salt lake here, and there are dozens of them, large and small. One of my favorite spots in Egypt! Siwa is situated 50 kms. away from the border of Libya and is one of the most isolated places in Egypt; 10 hours away from Cairo by car/bus. Siwa´s salt lakes are not an easy spot to access but are definitely worth the hassle. 市街地より遠い為、その場所に行くにはホテルにドライバーとガイドを依頼する必要がありますが然程高額ではありません。彼らはとても親切ですがルクソールの詐欺師とは違う。あまり愛想は良くありませんが逆に安全だと感じる。 塩の湖のスパは本当に素晴らしい。死海より澄んだ透明度と何より人が少ない為素晴らしい。ゆっくりと過ごせます。体は水に拒まれる為浮きます。タオルや着替えは持参。塩の湖のスパを体験した後は温かい泉に連れて行ってくれる。

泊まったホテルから徒歩1分だったので毎日登った。入場料などはなし。夕方、太陽が沈む時間になると結構な人が頂上から夕陽を眺めていたので、混雑を避けたい場合は少し下の方から夕陽を眺めると良いと思う。

アレクサンドリアから夜行バスで175エジプトポンド、12時間くらいで到着した。（途中バスの故障で数時間ストップ）エジプトとは思えないような町の雰囲気、建物で行って良かったと思う。安宿からでてるツアーでオアシスに行ったが、自転車で行っても良かったと思う。実際湖に入ってみると、本当に浮くので面白い。逆に足をつけようとしても相当力を入れないとつかない！イスラエルから旅してきた人は死海よりも浮くと言って帰っていくらしい。泳いでいると、塩分濃度が強すぎて不思議な模様が見えるのが楽しかった。

Even though there are no studies that back up the correlation to this pool to Queen Cleopatra VIII herself, the beauty of the site at the Cleopatra springs sure does the justice to its mysteriously acclaimed name.
