Siam Society
The Siam Society, Watthana District, Bangkok, has a motto of “Knowledge Gives Rise to Friendship”, devised by His Royal Highness Prince Damrong Rajanubhab and His Royal Highness Prince Pithayalaphap Phrutthiyakorn. Its emblem is an elephant’s head with a garland on its trunk, designed by His Royal Highness Prince Narisara Nuwattiwong. The Siam Society under Royal Patronage is located on Asoke Montri Road, Bangkok, and was established in 1904 during the late reign of King Chulalongkorn, Rama V of the Chakri Dynasty. The objectives were to study and promote arts and sciences related to Thailand and neighboring countries. Throughout the years, the Siam Society has received royal grace from every monarch who has continuously accepted the Siam Society under royal patronage. In addition, there are experts in various fields of study, such as humanities, science, and arts, who have been selected to hold positions in the Society. The Siam Society under Royal Patronage is a charitable organization that operates in the field of culture. It has collaborated with the public and private sectors to promote education, collect, disseminate, and preserve.
