I was a bit hesitant after reading the reviews, but I found this place to be a real gem. It's a bit far from the city center, but if you have a car, it's absolutely no problem. Parking is A$25 per night in the standard underground car park. You definitely need a car when visiting Western Australia.
The hotel infrastructure is excellent; this setup would easily qualify as a five-star hotel back home. During the Southern Hemisphere summer, the indoor pool was closed, but the outdoor pool is accessible directly with your room key. You can ask the staff for directions. The beach is right downstairs, and you can spend a whole day there, just like the locals do.
The ocean-view room was stunning; waking up to the sea view was amazing. The room was spacious and very clean upon check-in. However, the hotel is quite large, and the housekeeping on the second day was a bit slow; our room hadn't been cleaned by 4 PM when we returned, so we just grabbed fresh towels and skipped the cleaning. The breakfast buffet was delicious and plentiful.
This area is a lively hub. Every summer, Western Australia hosts Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night markets, and Scarborough is where the Thursday night market takes place. The area around the hotel becomes incredibly vibrant, feeling like all of Perth has descended upon it.
Downstairs, there are various restaurants, including a Thursday Special Steak deal, offering a 30% discount. A 300g steak for A$30-40 is an amazing and delightful deal. There's a Coles supermarket within a 5-minute walk, where everything is cheaper – anyone who's traveled to Australia will understand.
Everything was so relaxing; I hope to come back soon.

It's in the heart of the city, so it's very accessible. The bathroom is clean and overall it's quiet. The kitchen is in the basement, so you can't hear much noise. Sometimes you can only hear noise from the street at night. I recommend staying here for a trip, but it's a little expensive.
The staff were friendly and helpful. The included continental breakfast was good. The location across from the beach was great and also easy to walk around the main part of town. Lots of choices of places to eat within walking distance. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean.
Big room with a living room area. Netflix and free WiFi available. Bed are big and we had a good night rest for all 3 nights of our stay. There is a heated pool but we did not use it as it was cold. Cooking utensils available. Washer and dryer need some cleaning and maintenance . Went for a whale watching tour which is only 10 mins from hotel. Very conveniently located to visit Busselton Jetty and Margaret River.
[”This stay was fantastic! The room was clean and tidy, the staff were incredibly warm and attentive, and the location was super convenient. I'll definitely choose this place again for my next trip!”,”I highly recommend this hotel! The facilities are comprehensive and brand new, the breakfast offers a wide variety of delicious options, and the staff are thoughtful and meticulous. It was such a comfortable stay!”,”Full marks for this hotel experience! The environment was quiet and peaceful, the bedding was soft and ensured a great night's sleep, service was prompt and responsive, and it offers excellent value for money. Definitely worth revisiting!”]
This hotel is right next to a golf course, and the view from the window is breathtaking. What makes it even more special is seeing dozens of kangaroos freely roaming around the golf course and the vineyard garden. They're so relaxed and not at all afraid of guests, which is quite a sight in itself. The hotel even organizes a paid half-day kangaroo tour on the golf course. The room was spacious and very clean, though I was a bit disappointed it didn't have a bathtub. There was a faint musty smell in the room that even running the air conditioning all night couldn't get rid of, so those sensitive to smells might want to consider other options. The checkout process was quite a letdown, though. It took nearly fifteen minutes because they send someone to inspect the minibar consumption, which was a huge waste of time. I hope they improve this in the future.
Fantastic location, just 100 meters from the mini-train and right by the sea. The breakfast was a bit simple, but the location can't be beat! The staff were very friendly and helpful. I'll definitely be back!
Was so nice to arrive early, and be granted check-in 🤩 Deb was very obliging, pleasant and helpful, even organising and extremely generous breakfast delivered to our room the evening before we departed before 6am, WELL DONE
This motel has a very retro style – or rather, it's just plain old. It feels like a 50s or 60s building, and the facilities everywhere show their age:
First, let's talk about the less-than-satisfactory aspects:
· Outdated hardware: The lighting is dim, and the most unbelievable thing is that they're still using window air conditioners.
· Poor soundproofing: The guests next door checked out and left at 5 AM the next morning, and I could hear their car starting clearly. Light sleepers should definitely beware.
· Basic toiletries: While shampoo and shower gel are provided, their quality leaves much to be desired. You need to bring your own toothbrush and cup, which can be a bit awkward if you forget.
But there are also some highlights:
· The shower water pressure is strong and hot, which is perfect for washing away the fatigue after a long journey.
· Family-friendly bed layout: 1 large bed + 1 single bed, just right for three adults and one child.
· Microwave is very practical: In the morning, I heated up the previous day's #1 ranked pie and baguette from Mount Barker and enjoyed breakfast in the room, which was quite pleasant.
· Good location: About a 20-minute drive from Bald Head and only 1.8km from town, making it convenient for visiting attractions and finding food.
Summary: If you're just looking for a cheap place to stay overnight and don't have high expectations for the facilities, this place is barely acceptable. However, if you're a light sleeper or prioritize comfort, I recommend looking elsewhere. It's okay for a casual overnight stay, but don't expect a comfortable experience.
The environment and facilities are excellent. We even received complimentary handmade chocolates upon check-in. As for the price, I managed to snag a 3-night consecutive stay package during a Ctrip promotion, which worked out to saving ¥1,000 per day! There's a large free parking lot, and it's about a 6-minute walk back to the hotel.

GGuest UserThe location is in the city - easy to find, however on the weekends the city centre is all but closed.
The hotel did not reply to my emails before arriving with questions and requests for my stay.
They provide filtered water in the restaurant which is great, however housekeeping never removed the bottles when they cleaned. They also changed my towels each day - despite the sign saying to leave them on the hook if you didn't want them changed.
The bed was extremely soft and not comfortable and the pillows were lumpy and too big.
Overall it was ok, clean enough and easy to find but I wouldn't return.
GGuest UserCourtesy bus service from all airport terminal, excellent restaurant. Rooms are well equipped and exceptionally clean
Staff are always available to with a smile
Definitely worth booking if you’re begging or ending your vacation
GGuest UserOverall, the hotel is pretty good, but the facilities definitely need an upgrade. We were assigned room 804, and on the day we checked in, it was about 36 degrees Celsius outside. The air conditioning in our room was broken, but we didn't realize it at first. We thought maybe it was just slow to cool down since the room faced west. However, after two hours, the room was still hot and stuffy. We promptly called the front desk, and when the receptionist came in, even he was surprised. Initially, he thought we might have set the AC incorrectly, but after checking, he confirmed it wasn't user error – the AC was indeed broken. The front desk then reported our situation to the manager, and they moved us to a room with two separate bedrooms, which I guess was compensation for enduring two hours of extreme heat. The breakfast selection isn't huge, but it's well-balanced and nutritious. The hotel's location is also quite good, making it very convenient for getting around.

Very Good
GGuest UserThe host was incredibly kind and quick to respond to all my questions and requests.
The accommodation itself was very cozy and comfortable.
Having Cole Mart, cafes, and restaurants all nearby was super convenient.
But the biggest highlight was being able to walk to the beach in under 3 minutes from the accommodation. It was perfect for staying with my 4-year-old child.
GGuest UserBizarre place. 15 mins walk from Perth station and 5 from RAC Arena. Really should have everything going for it, but I have to concur with other reviews.
The whole building could do with a lick of point. My apartment was good size, didnt use the kitchen so cant comment. Huge living area with comfy bed. Telly is tiny so rendered pointless. Bathroom is good, but only 2 bars of soap, no other amenities.
Couple of spiders found as well. All in all, for a couple of nights its fine, but the place has huge potential if the owners wanted to invest.

Very Good
WWohaizhishigebaobaoneThis is my second time staying here. The room is spacious enough, very quiet, and the bedding is comfortable. The cleanliness, however, is just so-so; the bath towels had noticeable black stains. On the first day, I ate takeout at the dining table, and when I returned the next evening, I found the oil stains were still there. The cleaning staff is not very thorough. Parking is $50 a night. Overall, it's great value for money. It's a 5-minute walk to the city, and there's a newly opened Mr. King Beef Noodle nearby which is pretty good.
GGuest UserA supporting hotel next to UWA University, uh, to send children to school, and only 200 meters away from the dormitory, the best option.
Less than 60 rooms, clean and simple, with a first-class lake view.
If you want to live in the best room type, you will not be disappointed. At first, I stayed at the edge, and then changed to the middle. I didn’t want to move. I stayed there for a week and took a taxi to the city.
GGuest UserThis wasn’t our first time staying at RAC Karri Valley Resort, and once again it did not disappoint. We’ve spent time here both as a couple and with family, and it’s always a wonderful experience.
The resort is consistently clean, well maintained, and set in a beautiful, peaceful location. The amenities are great for all ages, making it perfect for family getaways as well as relaxing couple trips. Staff are friendly, welcoming, and always helpful.
A place we keep coming back to and would highly recommend to families and couples alike. 🌿✨
GGuest UserAlthough the hotel is a bit old, the facilities are very well-maintained, some even looking brand new. I read online that parking was $65, but that's actually just for the area in front of the hotel lobby. I asked a bellboy and found out there's a free parking lot not far behind the hotel, which was great! They also have a heated pool, but I was too tired to try it on my first day. The bed was incredibly comfortable! 😊
