Amazing hotel!! The staff were very friendly and helpful. Large room, incredibly comfortable beds, good temperature control. Very nice shower room. One downside was there was only a small table (there we two of us). There was a shared kitchen and lounge area, which were very nice. The coffee was excellent. I would love to stay there again. Very close to the bus stop and whirlpool tour. But public transport on the island is very limited so it is difficult to get to other attractions if you don't have a car. There is local bike hire, but they were out of/didn't have e bikes, and the hills are very steep.
The hotel is nestled in Meriken Park, offering truly stunning views; the hotel itself is a scenic spot.
The room size and facilities met expectations. I had researched beforehand and booked an East-facing room. I made a mistake when booking and ended up with a non-refundable special offer room, which was slightly smaller. However, the bed faced the balcony, so if you're an early riser, you can actually catch the sunrise from this room.
The only downside is that the hotel might have been open for a while and hasn't been maintained very well. The cleanliness wasn't ideal, especially for Japan. There was a lot of dust on the ceiling directly above the air conditioning vent, which looked a bit messy. I hope the hotel pays more attention to these details.
I had read in guides that it's best to take the shuttle bus or a taxi to the hotel because it's uphill and inconvenient with luggage. However, there's an escalator to the left of the hotel, which is perfectly fine for carrying suitcases. Just be aware that it stops operating after a certain time at night, so keep that in mind when checking in.
Due to a flight delay, we were supposed to arrive at 4 PM, but it got pushed to the evening. We landed quickly, took the airport bus to Sannomiya, and easily found the hotel shuttle pick-up point. We were lucky to catch the 10:30 PM hotel shuttle.
Upon arrival, we also bought some food and drinks at the convenience store on the first floor of the hotel lobby. This is the only convenience store in the vicinity, and it closes at 11 PM.
Overall, the highlight of this hotel is its scenery. You can take your time to fully appreciate the beauty of Kobe Port – it's an experience worth having. The drawback is that it's a bit far from Sannomiya's shopping centers, which can affect your subsequent plans.
Far from the center of Kobe/Sannomiya so do not expect the area to be busy. Also the hotel has started to show its age but no complaints considering the very attractive price point.

The hotel's hygiene and service are excellent. It's conveniently located 100 meters from Dongpu Bus Terminal, making it easy to catch buses to attractions, though do note that bus frequencies are limited, so check the schedule in advance. On the first floor, there's a microwave, oven, and coffee machine available for guests. Right outside the hotel is a beach, but it seems uncleaned with some litter, and at night, the sea outside the window is pitch black. There's also an Aeon supermarket nearby, which is handy for buying food.
This is my go-to hotel whenever I'm in Kobe. The location is super convenient, right above the Shinkansen and subway stations, with plenty of restaurants and transportation options nearby. The rooms are spacious, bright, and very comfortable, and the service is excellent. It's also really easy to get to the Nunobiki Herb Gardens from here.
The hotel's shower facilities were excellent. Its location is right next to Nanjing Street, an 8-minute walk from Kobe's waterfront, and a 5-minute walk from Sannomiya Station, which offers access to various transportation options. However, the breakfast was quite mediocre, both in terms of variety and quality.
Thank you for my stay at Hotel Livemax Toyooka.
The hotel is a bit of a distance from the station, and since it was snowing heavily on the day I arrived, I had to be careful with my commute. For winter access, I'd recommend checking transportation options in advance.
Also, even though I'm a foreigner, I responded in Japanese at the front desk, but was suddenly spoken to in English, which was a bit confusing. I would appreciate it if there was a bit more consideration regarding language choices.
Overall, it was a clean and comfortable stay. I'm also grateful for the polite service from the staff. I believe the service could be even better in the future with more consideration for language aspects.
This was my second stay at the Hotel Okura Kobe, and the service was just as attentive and thoughtful as I remembered. The front desk kindly upgraded me to a higher floor room, which was spacious, comfortable, and offered fantastic views. The breakfast had a wide variety of options and was consistently good. Overall, a perfect experience – I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time!
Hotel with a beautiful view, right by the Kannabe ski slopes. We visited during a period of abundant snow, and the weather was refreshingly cool. The hotel offers complimentary tea, coffee, ice, and instant miso soup.
Well maintained hotel with helpful hotel reception. Personally, I like the location of the hotel as it's convenient getting to Kobe or Osaka. Rooms are quiet and clean, and we have a bathtub to use.

Great
Communication with the hotel before arriving in Japan was nearly impossible. Once you are in Japan, if you use a local phone to call the hotel, they can provide information about where they can pick you up if you are traveling by bus. Apart from that, the service and facilities were excellent. The hotel provided a mobile phone that you could use to call them for pick-up at any time and from any location in the Nijigen no Mori area. Breakfast and dinner were delicious.
Wonderful stay. Ideal and central location in Kinosakionsen. Great and authentic food, wonderful staff, and rooms large enough to accommodate us and our luggage. Highly recommend the Ryokan
My best stay during my honeymoon trip to Japan. Booked this room because of the private onsen in the room. Inside there are 4 rooms but we're only 2 people 😆 Location a bit secluded, but the provide shuttle so no worries
A perfect site to eat, drink, play golf and shop in Kobe. It’s close to everything and the views of the Kobe Port are just magnificent. Most important, the hotel is well managed, the rooms are spacious and the breakfast is so richly prepared that you wouldn’t be bored even staying there for one week! Will go back.
I found the rooms surprisingly spacious and comfortable for Japan, easily accommodating my needs with great lighting and bedding. I was impressed by the excellent cleanliness and appreciated the professional, English-speaking staff who helped me with local tips and luggage. While I enjoyed the convenient facilities like the private bath areas and free amenities, I did notice some areas where the hotel could update older fixtures or be more consistent with daily maintenance.
The staff were very nice. They even gave us a ride when they saw us walking to the station. The room has a very nice view even if it was ROH. We only had breakfast with our plan but it was a good deal. The onsen is also good. We’ll definitely go back and recommend to friends.
