The location is close to Beppu station, it has a lot of restaurants and shop close to the hotel. There is onsen, 24 hr fitness in the hotel. There is package building close to the hotel, I think 600 yen for parking! There is heated pool, jaguzzi on the rooftop! The onsen has sauna, cold dip, outdoor dip! really a 5/5 hotel

Strategic location, the hotel is about 700-800m from the train station. In Japan it’s known to have a small bed for hotel, but it’s a pleasant surprise to note the bed is bigger than the “norm”. Very comfortable. In the winter/cold temperature, the centralise airconds were all “set” to heater. When we made a “complain” on the stuff/warm room, they are kind to offer a stand fan to put in our room. A big thumb ups for the buffet, a good spread, clean and delicious.

Had an amazing stay at Beppu Hatto Onyado Nono Beppu — definitely one of the highlights of the trip! The onsen experience here is truly exceptional. The hotel offers both public and private hot spring baths, all beautifully maintained and very relaxing. After a long day out, soaking in the onsen feels incredibly therapeutic. I especially loved the thoughtful touches like free ice cream and Yakult after the bath, plus complimentary ramen at night — it really elevates the whole experience. The location is perfect — just a short 1–2 minute walk from Beppu Station, with easy access to trains, buses, restaurants, and convenience stores. This makes traveling around Beppu and nearby areas like Yufuin super convenient. The hotel itself is clean, modern, and has a nice traditional Japanese touch with tatami flooring throughout. Staff were friendly and helpful, making the stay even more comfortable. Overall, a perfect stay if you’re looking for a relaxing onsen hotel with unbeatable location and great value.

Good location near by Oita station. The room was cleaned and building was also tidy. You can expect better than you pay.

The best backpacker guesthouse. Self check in with details explanation from front desk. Typical hostel style and facilities. Free sauna and location is good. Guesthouse are under Beppu Tower. Nice experience.

## Environment: The location is very convenient, just a few minutes' walk from Beppu Station. There's a Lawson nearby and plenty of restaurants. You can walk to the beach in about 10 minutes. On the 3rd floor, there's a free hot spring. If you want to use it, you can pick up a yukata and belt from the toiletries area on the first floor. It's on a lower level, and I didn't see it at first, so I had to come back down to get it. There's a good selection of toiletries, including disposable makeup remover and facial cleanser. ## Cleanliness: The room's cleanliness was decent. The facilities were a bit old but still clean. The hot spring only had two hot pools, one cold pool, and a sauna. There was also an outdoor pool just big enough for one person. You just take off your clothes, rinse off, and then soak. However, when I was soaking, I noticed a lot of what looked like exfoliated dirt floating in the pool. The water circulation didn't seem to be very timely, so I only soaked for a short while and then left. ## Facilities: There's a washing machine and dryer, which I think cost 300 yen per use. The room has a refrigerator, but it doesn't seem to have a microwave; that's probably in a common area. It's quite quiet. ## Service: The service was very friendly. Opposite the restroom on the first floor, there's a self-service luggage storage area where you can set your own password and retrieve your belongings, which is very convenient.

The check-in process was smooth. There was no room card provided; instead, I was given a password to access my room, which was stated on a formal document. Be sure to take a photo of the password and keep it safe, as you’ll need it throughout your stay. Since there is no room card, there is also no formal check-out process—simply vacate the room by your designated check-out date and time. The room was spacious and well-equipped with full amenities, including a water dispenser, clothes-hanging space, a balcony, a TV, and a bathtub. There was no housekeeping service during my stay, so you’ll need to keep the room clean yourself. However, the hotel staff kindly placed fresh towels and new amenities in a basket outside the room daily for guests to use. The hotel is located near Beppu Station, although it requires a bit of walking to get there. A Don Quijote (Donki) store is conveniently located just opposite the hotel. For convenience stores, you’ll need to walk a little further in the direction of Beppu Tower. The hotel also offers a welcome drink at the lobby and has coin-operated laundry dryers on the first floor. Additionally, there is a washing machine available in the room. Overall, I would recommend staying at this hotel.

All doors are pin locked . The staff service is superb. Room is big for solo traveler , and onsen is public bath and it’s so great! Cleanliness 100% If you want to visit hells of Beppu, you may purchase one day bus pass cost about JPY1100, and upon return from the hells the bus will just stop right infront of the hotel , super convenient Highly Recommend for those who wants to visit Beppu

I had a great time at Kannawaen with my family recently! We booked 2 rooms at Superior Japanese Western Room With Open Air Bath, with breakfast option. Parking was easy and spacious, everyone at the hotel was very kind and professional, room was very nice, clean, warm with nice views. I don't have much complaints except for check-out was done through a machinery method and the hotel only had one machine at the check-out area. FYI they also had employees who could speak English, which was great for forigners!

The hotel is a little far from the station, but the surrounding area is very quiet, making it perfect for those looking for work or quiet time. The room was spacious, and the bed was very comfortable, so I slept well. However, there were a few things that bothered me. First, I could hear footsteps from the floor above, so I felt like the soundproofing wasn't very good. Also, for some reason, the bathroom smelled like stale wastewater, which was disappointing. All in all, the hotel offers good value for money and is highly recommended, especially for those looking for a comfortable, quiet environment.
