The hotel was completely isolated from everything. On the first day, there were many other guests in the hotel celebrating Independence Day – and it was extremely loud. You could hear everything in the room, and it was awful.
The fitness room was basically unusable. There were no towels or sanitizer. There were no cups or glasses for the water.
On the second day, we felt like the only guests, and breakfast was completely empty. There was nothing to choose from except fruit, bread, and butter.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Three items of laundry are cleaned free of charge per day and per room. That was great. They even helped us book a taxi and gave us water and umbrellas.

The hotel room is spacious and designed in the style of an old Vietnamese house, featuring plenty of quiet corners perfect for chilling and unwinding. The location is not perfect but it offers unique experience to embrace the nature. Food is amazing, too

Every hotel the laundry bag is free for customers. But this hotel is charge extra the laundry bag . I stay 2 day on 19/4 i got use them laundry bag go outside wash clothes then no bring back . 20/4 i got check out them charge extra me 6 USD . And noon 20/4 i got check in again stay 1 more day . 21/4 got check out and give back them the laundry bag . Them no give return and no refund money . 2 receptionists stood lauging talk to customers is money in company cant return paid cash maybe can return but bank in cant . And other said paid cash also cant refund because alr in to company . First time see got hotel charge the laundry bag .

The rooms are very nice and clean, had no problem whatsoever.
The staff are very nice and helpful, they really want to help you throughout your stay.
The breakfast are delicious and plentiful, we even had the chance to try their diner service and it was great ^^ a lot of variety in the menu and the service was fast and amazing.
Only thing I have to say is that it’s a bit far from any restaurants, I personally didn’t mind walking around to look for options but it’s a a bit of walk. Nothing too scary, the area is very friendly and smiling 😅

The stay was pleasent.
It does show a luggage storage online but there was none present. However we could leave our luggage at the reception. But sometimes there was no one present.
Location is very convenient next to ancient center of Ninh Binh.
Room is nice, but the drain of shower is not working properly. Meaning whole bathroom was full of water after showering.

Great resort. Very big room, with beautiful bar, swimming pool, gym, kid’s playroom and big restaurant with good delicious food. Nearby is the boat ride and 30mins drive to Bach Dinh Pagoda complex and 15 mins drive to Mua Cave etc. Great hospitality by all the staff. Location is safe with supermarkets and restaurants and cafes around. There are rooms at 2nd level. Recommend for families, friends and solo travellers.

This was a beautiful hidden away oasis. I loved how our bungalow was built into the cliff side. It was very magical arriving at night with all the cute lights. It’s about 8 minutes from Tran An and 18 minutes from Dragon Hill. Wish I had more time for relaxing here.

I particularly enjoy staying in family-run hotels like this one. The reception staff were incredibly friendly, we even received a free upgrade because the room was still available, plus a generous breakfast, comfortable beds, a clean room, and a lovely rooftop pool. The hotel's location was perfect for exploring the city, walking distance to Hoa Lu Old Town and 15 minute drive to tourist spots. The room was spacious and comfortable but it has poor soundproofing. The staff were friendly and attentive, particularly the receptionists. Breakfast is ala cart. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and will definitely recommend.

This trip itinerary covered three places:
Hanoi --＞ Ninh Binh (2.5-hour drive)
Ninh Binh --＞ Ha Long (3-hour drive)
Ha Long --＞ Hanoi Airport (2-hour drive)
For two nights in Ninh Binh, I stayed at a place called ”Mai Luxury Hotel.”
Judging by the name, it sounds grand,
but in reality, it was more like
a family-run, small-scale single-building guesthouse.
However, the room was of 4-star hotel quality,
so it was acceptable.
After checking out,
I had been on the way to Ha Long for about two hours when
I realized I had left my Insta 360 camera in the hotel lobby.
Knowing there was no way to go back and get it,
I had to wait until I arrived in Ha Long before calling Mai Luxury Hotel.
After confirming with them that I had indeed left it at the hotel,
we started looking for a solution.
Initially, they followed me on IG
(their hotel IG only had 4 followers).
We chatted via DM, and then they added me on WhatsApp to discuss.
Originally, they wanted to find a driver that very evening
to bring it to my hotel in Ha Long Bay.
But because it was a holiday, they couldn't find a driver.
Later, they found out I would be leaving Vietnam the next day,
so they started looking for any drivers heading to the airport the following day.
Not long after,
they actually found a driver.
They even sent me the driver's and vehicle's details.
They also said they had already wrapped it up securely.
At this point,
I was inclined to believe they genuinely intended to return it.
However, if the driver turned out to be dishonest, it could still go missing.
On the final day,
I arrived at the airport around 1 PM and received a message from the driver.
After that, I didn't hear from him again.
I grew increasingly anxious inside,
thinking maybe he was still driving?
Or perhaps he had already kept the camera for himself.
Around 4 PM, I finally received a call from the driver.
He even captured a photo of my anxious expression while waiting for him.
As previously arranged with the hotel,
I was to pay him 500,000 VND (about 150 HKD).
At that moment, the driver actually handed me back 200,000 VND.
Before I could react, he had already gotten back in his car and left.
When I looked at the returned item, I could hardly believe it!
The hotel had used a ”Happy New Year” bag
to hold a ”Happy New Year” box.
Upon opening the box, the camera was wrapped in cloth.
The level of care and thoughtfulness was truly perfect.
The feeling of joy from recovering something lost is truly
indescribable.
Of course, I wouldn't dare say that everyone in Vietnam is good,
but at least on this trip,
whether it was the hotpot restaurant owner, the tour guide on the boat, or the hotel staff,
they all made me feel
the warmth and kindness of the local people.

The location is excellent, being close to Bai Dinh Temple and the Trang An river tour, which made exploring very convenient. The property itself is wonderfully peaceful, surrounded by nature and perfect for relaxing away from busy areas. The staff were friendly and accommodating throughout, always happy to help. There was also a very cute dog on-site, which added a lovely, homely touch. Overall, it was a pleasant and enjoyable stay that I would recommend.

GGuest UserThe hotel's location is a bit out of the way, but it's convenient for visiting major attractions like Hoa Lu Ancient Capital. There aren't many dining options nearby. However, the breakfast provided by the hotel is decent, and the room size is good for two people. The bathroom is small but functional. The breakfast selection and taste are okay, but they started clearing everything away at 8:50 AM even though they claim service stops at 9:30 AM, which is really unreasonable. The front desk staff were friendly. The room's soundproofing isn't great, and it felt quite noisy, especially in the mornings. The mattress is large and comfortable. There's no shower curtain next to the bathtub in the bathroom, so water easily splashes out onto the floor.

GGnolijzGreen Bay Hotel was the perfect location to stay on our trip to Ninh Binh. It's right at the doorstep of Hoa Lu Street which comes alive during the nighttime and just a short walk from great breakfast/lunch time restaurants just across the water during the day.
The room we booked was spacious with wall to ceiling windows offering a panoramic view of Ninh Binh, with a comfortable King sized bed and well adorned bathroom.
The only issue was noise insulation, as chatter and vehicle noise does permeate into the room, but it's not a deal breaker.
