I was initially a bit worried after seeing numerous negative reviews online, but my actual stay turned out quite pleasant. **Pros:** The hotel is centrally located, making it very convenient for dining and shopping. Right across the street is a trendy chain restaurant, a famous cultural heritage spot frequented by celebrities; even at 9 PM, there was still a queue. The room was quite spacious and came with all the basic amenities. Cleanliness was satisfactory. Breakfast was rather plentiful, and the rice noodles were particularly good. However, the coffee could definitely be improved; if it's instant, there's no real reason to go to the breakfast area for it when I could just make it in my room. **Cons:** As many online reviewers pointed out, the elevators were quite slow during peak hours. What was surprising was that housekeeping was doing their cleaning during the morning rush hour. Couldn't that be scheduled for a different time? The hairdryer is quite old and could do with an upgrade. Also, the small bottles of toiletries were genuinely difficult to dispense; this is definitely an area for improvement. **Overall:** While the investment in physical facilities is evident and good, there's still room for improvement in the details of their operational service.

The hotel is a new hotel, the location and environment are good, but it may be a new hotel, the circuit system of the room is a bit problematic, tripping every day, opening your eyes to find maintenance... We started our final China trip form Ürümqi followed by Turpin and Dunhuang. While our hotels there were reasonable, we felt really comfortable when we stayed at at a Club floor room at Sofitel Xining. Their service was one of the best we have experienced during our seven China trips so far. We enjoyed the comfort and the staff’s dedicated service. Thank you.

The Sofitel Residences, despite being ten years old, are still well-maintained. Having a washing machine, fridge, and induction hob makes it convenient to cook a little something. However, the hairdryer and toothbrushes could use an upgrade. The customer service staff are very well-trained. Xiao Quan at the front desk was incredibly thoughtful; hearing we wanted to stir-fry vegetables, she specifically helped us buy a wok! The hotel's location is excellent. The breakfast at the Western restaurant looks a bit dated, but the selection is quite rich. There are plenty of dining and entertainment options nearby. Recommended!
