When we arrived, we noticed we had been given a far inferior room than we've ever had before. The view was terrible. There was no fridge which we have always had before and the room looked 'tired'...in need of TLC.
I went to reception to tell them I was not happy. Anyway they did sort it. Gave us another room with a better view and the young girl on reception brought us an old, but working mini fridge.. so it worked out OK in the end ( I need a fridge to put some of my medication in.) Another lady on the desk was very curt when I said there was no fridge and stated....not all rooms automatically have a fridge in them. Sorry but I thought they did.
Whoever makes loose leaf tea in the restaurant needs to learn it is 1 tsp of tea per person and 1 for the pot. In this case 3tsp of tea and not half a teapot full. I kid you not. See pic below. We got a refund for some of the tea, but nit for the cream tea my friend had. My friend had ordered a cream tea and me, just a tea. Yet they brought a pot of tea for 2, which is the wrong etiquette for an order like this. Hence we only got 2 cups out of it, because of the amount of loose tea in there.
I think I have been spoiled by the superior standard of the rooms, when we have stayed before....I just presumed all their rooms would be like this

Breakfast is Western food. If you like Western food, it’s okay. Chinese people who don’t like Western food shouldn’t have breakfast. In short, there’s nothing delicious in the UK.

My wife and I spend the night between Feb 14 and 15th. It was a disaster! Maybe too busy, but anyhow considering the night fee We were expecting something better. No table available for dinner, if not at the bar, but with more than 1H waiting.
Small Gym with few machines, open starting from 8.00 am. Water available but not glasses. Pretty disappointing
A hotel with no bright spots, saying that the old is not old, and that the new is not new. The little milk bag for drinking tea in the room was opened by the last guest, but it was not cleaned and kept for me. The breakfast is very simple, the English breakfast is a little bit simple and there are few other options, and it is not worth the price of more than 2,000.
Wow what a find! Really cool hotel. Bedrooms were huge and well appointed. Bar and restaurant were really good, great service from Staff and really lovely breakfast available. Hotel was a rum warehouse previously and the concierge (Michael/martin .. sorry I can’t remember his name) went out of his way to tell us about the hotel and its famous staircase and about the history of the area. I’d wholeheartedly recommend. Finishing touch was very reasonably priced on site parking.
The spa was nice, but the bed had bed bugs, and I got bitten. The shower didn’t have a handheld option, and the water pressure was poor.
I checked in at 11 AM, which was fine, but when we returned at 9 PM, I mentioned to the reception that we needed the beds split, but that never happened. The manager came over and started complaining. I reminded him that our request had been confirmed in the morning. He was a bit temperamental at first, but it calmed down when I asked for an extra duvet.
