Cityhub was a fantastic stay, especially recommended for solo travelers. It's quite affordable for Reykjavik. For my last three nights, I chose a lower bunk, and I felt there was enough space; it was also more convenient for packing and unpacking. The ability to choose between upper and lower bunks is a really nice option. The only minor drawback is that the door is quite heavy and closes very quickly, so you have to be careful not to catch your hand.
Beautiful hotel and excellent location (I had a view of the main square and parliament building). The staff was very helpful, professional and friendly. Food in the restaurant was superb with selected dishes from the local cuisine. The Spa design has taken inspiration from Icelandic nature in both colours, materials and textures, and is a fantastic addition to the experience with thermal pool, steam room, sauna, cold mist/rain and cosy relaxation areas.
Would highly recommend choosing this hotel when visiting Reykjavik, or using it as a base when exploring further around.
The location is excellent, within walking distance to the city's popular attractions, restaurants, cafes, etc. The room is relatively small, but comfortable. The bathroom is relatively small, especially the wash basin. The so-called buffet breakfast is not bad, but there is not much choice of food. The hotel service and staff are very friendly and helpful.
In the city center, the famous lake, it will take about 10 minutes to walk to the concert hall. Lived on the third floor spire. The room is big in Iceland. There is a small balcony. The Italian restaurant downstairs is quite delicious.
Compared to other European hotels, this one is quite nice. The overall service and atmosphere are good, but the breakfast isn't great. The room temperature was a bit cold, so I needed to wear a sweater to sleep. Also, the temperature couldn't be adjusted in the room.
The hotel is very cosy and the staff are very attentive to our needs. The breakfast spread is plentiful and delicious too. We have stayed there for honeymoon and they gave us complimentary access to hot spring and spa which is wonderful. The hotel is also central located.
Greatly recommended
Everything is good except two things:
1. The shower area is too dark and small (only 2.5'x2.5' a small square). See picture below. Luckily my husband and I are small guys! Their photo on the website is a bit tricky! as I usually check the outlook of washroom before I book a hotel. I was so disappointed and frustrated at that time honestly.
2. No self service laundry in the hotel as it is very common nowadays. The price list of serviced laundry seems too expensive as they still charge based on your pieces.
Lastly, I stayed there for 5 nights and quite a few hotels would offer an upgrade or special promotion like a free use of spa etc. Anyway, I didn't expect too much and made me feel better.
While not in the absolute city center, the hotel's facilities, breakfast, and service are all excellent. Getting around is easy: there are several bus routes directly across the street that go downtown. For airport transfers, the Flybus service connects to a shuttle that drops you off right at the hotel. Good day tours and island excursions also provide convenient pick-up and drop-off from the lobby. A majority of the guests are American, and the restaurant primarily offers Western dishes.
When you stay at Hvammsvik Nature Resort in Kjósarhreppur, you'll be on the beach and 23.9 mi (38.5 km) from Thingvellir National Park. This beach resort is within the region of Glymur Waterfall and Harpa.
Take time to pamper yourself with a visit to the full-service spa. You can take advantage of recreational amenities such as hot springs, an outdoor pool, and a hot tub. Additional amenities at this resort include complimentary wireless internet access, a communal living room, and a picnic area.
Take advantage of the resort's room service (during limited hours). Self-serve breakfasts are available daily from 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM for a fee.
Featured amenities include express check-out, multilingual staff, and laundry facilities. Free self parking is available onsite.
Make yourself at home in one of the 12 guestrooms featuring espresso makers and Smart televisions. Complimentary wireless internet access keeps you connected, and digital programming is available for your entertainment. Bathrooms have designer toiletries and hair dryers. Conveniences include electric kettles, and housekeeping is provided on request.
It was all overall good. Friendly front office, clean and spacious room, toilet and shower room was small but it was sufficient for my use. Bus stop is 5 minutes walking distance away , US embassy as well (no use , simply mentioned though). Football stadium and sports exhibition hall is 7 minutes away.

GGuest UserFirst hotel we stayed at Reykjavík. Location is great and breakfast spread was awesome. We like the room as it was big and spacious for 3 people but layout was kind of strange as the toilet and shower area was separate. 😏
Apart from that all the rest is great.

GGuest UserThis Hilton is very historic in terms of furnishings and details. It is not particularly large, but it is clean and safe. You need to swipe your card to go to the elevator in your room. The front desk staff is very patient and answers all questions in detail. Next door is the famous lamb sandwich shop. The hotel's gym is small and beautiful, and very clean; there is also a bathing area, which is also historic. Overall, it is highly recommended.
