The hotel is like a hidden gem, nestled in a busy alley. The alley feels tranquil upon entering, and a small garden in the hotel's atrium offers a sense of peace amidst the hustle and bustle. The hotel is freshly decorated, clean, and stylish. My room was on the second floor, facing a tranquil garden. The staff were helpful, and the welcome drink was delicious. The hotel has a gym, which, while small, is adequate for a comfortable workout.

Pros Great location for exploring Themal and provided you are not too high up, you shouldn't hear any road noise as it's set back. I was on the 4th floor and could hear the incessant beeping motorbikes but had moved from the first floor where i heard none (but was directly above the kitchen so could hear banging and chairs scraping from around 6am). 2nd floor is probably a good choice Staff were all excellent Room cleaned daily with 2 large bottles of water provided each day Breakfast was ok - decent variety of fruit, local and western with custom eggs. Coffee was instant though. Air con has heat facility No deposit required on check-in Toiletries provided Cons Some noise depending on your room location - dont stay in 107 or room directly above the kitchen/restaurant No safe for passport, cash etc in room Breakfast area isn't particularly clean i.e. dirty table cloths/mats Poor standard of fixtures/fittings e.g. gaps in windows and doors, curtains dont quite close right, dirty shower curtain, the rooms have seen better days but for the price its still good value. No coffee or milk in room (or 3-in one) No phone charging point near the bed Bathroom mat was old and dirty, no floor towel Tips: take extra passport photo if you intend to get a sim card at the airport, unlimited data one with nepal telecom cost me $10 - signal was mostly ok. Get your currency before you arrive or take enough to convert there, the atm machines are expensive Taxi from airport to Themal should be around 350 rupees working on 50 rupees per km plys 30 rupees start charge. You will be hounded relentlessly by people from the second you leave the plane for tour services etc. It may seem impolite but dont make eye contact, say no thank you and keep walking, otherwise you will spend your entire trip speaking to them. Right now its cold at night, pack accordingly. Be prepared to pay for everything, every temple, every place of historical interest - foreigners are charged around 1000-2000 rupees each time. E.g. all the Durbar squares, main stupas and temples. Don't assume that because Nepal is a developing country it is cheap. It isn't. In fact i found it comparable to some developed countries and not cheaper than say Thailand. A meal would cost me around 1000 rupees. In a smaller more local place you may pay 500. Don't take your new trainers, it's a very dirty, dusty city but exactly what you would expect if you've ever seen it on TV - it's all part of the experience. For exploring all of the main parts of Kathmandu, id say 5 days is a good amount of time. I recommend the everest helicopter tour but on that note i will say that tours are very expensive here, more expensive than even Hong Kong, Thailand, etc!! I ended up walking to the main temples, Chandragiri, Bakhtapur for the more local experience.

The staff is warm, the breakfast buffet is rich in content, the facilities and sanitation are good, quiet, and the location is not far from the entrance of the scenic spot and walks to the Palace Square.

i love atmosphere in this resort: fresh air, clean...and cool. we came in summer so the sky was changing drastically by hours but we are still lucky can see snow mountains on first day. On 2nd day, it s foggy cannot see anything but it s great experience to see how ocean of clouds flying in front of us. Food is ok but a bit higher than outside. Service is good, staffs are trained, they understand customer's needs and well supports

Our trip was made even better by this hotel. We were treated to a welcome drink at check-in, which created a great mood. I liked that the prices in the minibar were not exorbitant, but quite reasonable. The view from the room to the valley was simply stunning! The staff was polite and helpful, always ready to help. There are many cafes and restaurants around the hotel, so there is always a place to eat deliciously. But the best thing is the roof! There you can not only admire the views, but also enjoy the food. By the way, in the summer you can swim in the pool. The breakfast was very tasty and filling, the buffet is beyond praise. My wife and I were very pleased and will definitely come back here again.

Near Patan, the service is very good, there is air conditioning, the surrounding is very convenient, there are big shopping malls and small supermarkets, there is a small bookstore nearby, there are many restaurants around. The top floor of the hotel is a terrace bar, the scenery is beautiful, you can walk to Patan Palace. The price is slightly higher than the surrounding area, but it is worth it.

Nice Old Hotel, Great Staff with few needs to improve. Swimming pool is totally disappointment. Better to shut down, than keep running and not swimmable, waist of energy. The water is dirty, no star at all. The lobby, the room and Ghurka bar are still great. 2 power shutdowns in 1 day, I believe they are struggling with power shortages due to dark lounges. Breakfast was so so, coffee or tea should be not a challenge to serve first, sometimes took half of meal before they come. Many Tables are not stable and aligned, egg can easily roll over to other side. Atleast 3 tables on my experience. Room is comfortable, nice bed and always fresh linen. Only noisy from AC , maintenance team came twice on my room to fix, though transfer was offered on my last 2 days. Managers should not standing in buffet line, either they should help the line staffs or directing the team, talking business in public is not of our guests concern. Front desk Trainee, has good presence, I thought first he is manager. A lot can be improved and polished, the hotel has a great potential, nice design, great facilities and great staffs. I wish that management should look all themselves and review those small details.

GGuest UserI had a wonderful stay in this beautiful, historic building. Staff was attentive and kind. Adjacent to the hotel are nice restaurants (Nepalese, Indian and very fine French). I've made use of the small but practical gym, thereafter the sauna and finishing and cooling off in the outside pool.  Only 10-15m away from the airport (outside rush hours).  I'll certainly come again.

GGuest UserThe hotel service is very professional, the breakfast is rich, and the front desk service is warm and thoughtful. When I asked for water, it was delivered quickly. There is also a hair dryer in the hotel, and the hot water for bathing is very comfortable. Many Chinese people go to other places to find Chinese food, but they find that the most authentic Chinese food is on the ninth floor above the hotel. And the chocolate brownie here is very authentic. It was supposed to be eaten with ice cream, but I asked for hot ice cream, and the hotel immediately made hot ice cream. There is the largest farmer's market in Kathmandu next to the hotel, and 6 big apples cost less than 20 yuan. You can buy all kinds of vegetables and fruits here. Because Kathmandu is often congested, if you connect with a flight, the hotel is very close to the airport, which is another big advantage.

Hharriet chowThis hotel is inside the country park so you have to hire a car to go in and out. So you need to stock up with snacks and sweets before coming in. So, the only option you have is to take their package to the activities. I see tourists inside this hotel but mostly on tour, having their own packages. As travellers not bound by any travel agency, our choice is limited to: Jeep safari + canoeing. you can have the Tuala tribe dance and bbq snacks if you add more. Before signing up, I thought I could have more like jungle walk, ride on the elephant into the jungle, etc… outside the hotel is the country park so you can hear the animals at night which is good. But since there are trees, you quite can’t see the river from the balcony so it is not like you sit in the balcony and you can see the river and animals right outside. This hotel is first class for the cleanliness and the room. But for travellers, probably staying outside the country park has more options. My bf and I did not take their buffet lunch or dinner (which cost 2500rs / person) but insisted on a-la-cart. The food is not bad. And there are many waiters and waitresses to serve you.

FFliFlaThis is the second time I stayed at Ramada Encore in Thamel. I was not wrong to choose it again. Absolutely everything is good here ... the staff, the room, the breakfast (oh my, sooooo good), the location, the friendliness of every single employee, from the door in. A special recognition to Nikhil in the reception, whose service and support with a sincere smile is as comforting as the sunshine on an early autumn morning. And to the staff and therapists on the spa where I took a couple of massages that were superb. Kathmandu is a beautiful, yet hectic city. Thamel even more, so to have this oasis to come to after a long day wandering around or trekking is something to treasure. In my case, this is even more meaningful as I left all my stuff to go hiking on the Himalayas for several days, coming back to the hotel with the certainty that I was going to be happily and truly welcome. Again, I was not wrong. Thank you for making a difference and for understanding what the word service means. I will certainly choose you again and again every time I come back to this unique Kathmandu I learned to love. Namaste, 🙏🏼.

LLuce96I had an exceptional stay at Dusit Princess Hotel in Kathmandu! From the moment I arrived, the staff was incredibly welcoming and attentive, making me feel at home right away. The hotel itself is beautifully designed, blending modern architecture with a touch of traditional Nepalese charm. My room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and equipped with fresh fruit and a kind hand written card. The dining experience was outstanding, with a range of delicious options at the thai restaurant and the rooftop bar. The breakfast buffet was a particular highlight, offering a great selection to start the day. I also had the chance to unwind at the hotel’s spa and fitness center, both of which were top-notch. Really enjoyed the use the sauna and steam room. The location is ideal as well, with easy access to major attractions and shopping areas in Kathmandu. Overall, Dusit Princess exceeded all my expectations. The service, facilities, and atmosphere were all impeccable, and I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. Highly recommend it for anyone visiting Kathmandu!
