For this trip, I chose an eSIM because it was so convenient! No need to change SIM cards, no need to carry a pocket WiFi, and I could use the internet as soon as I landed. 📱✨ 📶 The overall signal was excellent. I could comfortably use Google Maps, Google Translate, check train routes, book restaurants/attractions, and use social media. 🚅 I used it from Tokyo → Kamakura → Osaka → Kyoto, and it even worked while I was on the Shinkansen. ⚡️ The overall speed was okay. There were some moments when the signal slowed down a bit in the subway or crowded areas, but it didn't cause any problems with my travels. 💰 Most importantly, it was more cost-effective than renting a pocket WiFi for a solo trip because there was no need to pick up and return the device and no need to constantly recharge it. If you're planning a trip to Japan, I recommend installing an eSIM before you fly. You can activate it as soon as you land. ✈️🇯🇵
